Job Description

The proposed iGaming subsidiary (the Subsidiary) is looking for a Senior Manager, Anti-Money Laundering Program. Reporting to the Director of Industry Programs and Monitoring, the successful candidate will lead a team of AML Analysts in the development, implementation and ongoing administration of the Subsidiary’s AML compliance program.  This includes the development of AML policies, identifying training requirements, and establishing risk assessments and reporting systems.  This position is responsible for building a high-performance team by using a collaborative team approach and coaching techniques as well as for maintaining strong working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

 

In this role, you will:

  • Develop an effective AML compliance program for the Subsidiary
  • Lead the Subsidiary’s AML compliance program
  • Provide ongoing advice on AML-related matters
  • Liaise with external stakeholders and regulatory agencies
  • Act as the designated compliance officer under federal AML requirements
  • Build a high-performing team 

The ideal candidate must have:

  • Post-secondary education in one of the following fields:  Finance, Criminology, Business Administration and/or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated understanding of Canada’s AML regime and knowledge of the gaming industries, both in Ontario and globally
  • Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) or equivalent designation is an asset
  • Management experience in an AML compliance environment
  • Comprehensive knowledge of money laundering typologies and risk mitigation controls
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to develop and maintain productive internal and external relationships
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and critically, and to use data to inform strategic planning and decision-making

   The ideal candidate will have:

  • University Degree in Analytics, Data Mining, Machine Learning, Statistics, Operations Research Business Administration, Economics, or related field combined with 5+ years’ related experience applying analytics techniques to business problems
  • Superior knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, ability to program R, Python, VBA, and a strong competency in Business Intelligence tools such as Information Builders Web Focus
  • Strong working knowledge of complex data extraction from multiple data sources, data preparation, advanced statistics and data mining algorithms including decision trees, clustering, regression, and neural networks along with a familiarity of database modeling, data warehousing principles and SQL
  • Experience working with enterprise level data management (business or technical) process improvement projects
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, including negotiation, senior management presentations and issues management

How do I qualify?

The ideal candidate will have:

    • 5 + years of experience administering Canadian payroll and benefits, with at least 3 years of experience in a managerial capacity, preferably in the public sector.
    • University education (BA in accounting, business, or finance).
    • Canadian Payroll Association’s Certified Payroll Manager (CPM) and/or Canadian Chartered Professional Accountant’s designation.
    • Thorough knowledge of payroll related legislation.
    • Knowledge of Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) payroll and benefits related requirements.
    • Experience with cloud-based Payroll and HR systems (Ceridian – Dayforce preferred).
    • Expert knowledge in payroll compliance and reporting in a unionized environment with defined benefit pension plans.
    • Proficiency in MS Office applications: Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
    • Excellent problem-solving skills with strong attention to details and the ability to meet deadlines.
