Position Purpose:

The Apprentice Meter Technician is a path to a Meter Technician position, by observing, carrying out, and demonstrating proficiency installing and maintaining meters, metering equipment, and associated equipment and infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

Promote safety through compliance with Alectra policies and procedures, taking steps to carry out work in a safe manner, identifying, documenting, and resolving hazards, and taking an active role in improving safety in all aspects of metering work.
Install, verify, maintain, remove, replace, and troubleshoot metering equipment and installations on all existing voltages and phases, including specialized metering installations.
Interrogate and program meters and install, maintain, and troubleshoot communication equipment and issues related to meter interrogation.
Provide positive customer service and be an ambassador for Alectra in the community by coordinating with other departments and the customer to ensure prompt service, by working with customers to resolve access and metering issues, and by providing information on metering standards and requirements.
Support Alectra’s Collections, New Connection, Lines, Billing, Engineering, Customer Service, Regulatory and other departments, by carrying out work in the field and office, such as: disconnects for non-pay, investigations of power quality issues, ground faults, high bills, theft of power and other requested work.
Test, reprogram, and seal meters to internal and government standards, maintain meter test equipment and documents, and review meter product Quality Documents prior to use.
Support our meter fleet by determining sample lot acceptance, and maintain meter seals, equipment and records.
Support our Quality System by participating in audits and process development, identifying and documenting non-conformances, corrective actions, and promote continuous improvement.
Other duties as required.

Skills & Qualifications:

Education & Specialized Knowledge

Mearie Meter Technician Level I, II and III certificates preferred.
Electrical Technician or Technologist Certificate from a community college, or Certified Electrician License, required.
Working knowledge of Measurement Canada Act and Regulations in relation to electricity metering.
Strong knowledge of metering concepts and supporting technologies.
Must hold and maintain a valid Class “G” Driver’s License.
Experience

Related experience preferred.
Skills/Abilities/Competencies

Demonstrated ability to solve moderately complex problems.
Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills with coworkers and members of the public to achieve positive outcomes for the company.
Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act, EUSR and other related safety regulations.
Knowledge of tools and equipment and their life cycles

Position Purpose:

The Customer Service Representative is the main point of contact for Alectra customers, committed to providing service excellence and exceeding customer expectations.

Responsibilities:

  • Answer incoming telephone inquiries for electric and water customers; respond to customer inquiries through multi-channel services.
  • Provides assistance to customers with web portal and on line inquiries
  • Establishes and closes accounts for residential and commercial customers and complete all daily work as assigned
  • Based on current policies and guidelines, makes pay plans/payment arrangements for outstanding amounts on final and disconnect notices, and security deposits; initiates payment investigations; and provides mitigation strategies to assist customers in arrears
  • Performs tasks required to support water services including liaison activities, inquiries and reporting
  • Be fully knowledgeable of the Ontario Energy Board initiatives including the Ontario Electricity Support Program and the Low-income Energy Assistance Program and direct customers in need of financial assistance to social agencies and community support partners
  • Assists customers with their understanding of account charges and resolve billing inquiries including high bill concerns; and recommends solutions to reduce consumption and costs.
  • Supports all business processes related to customer account management including account start / stop, billing, collections and payments
  • Performs user acceptance testing of system and procedural changes, documenting new and revised procedures to provide the efficient customer services
  • Performs tasks to support billing functions such as entering and updating access notes and customer contact information.
  • Responds to Customer Inquiries from electronic sources, letter mail, faxes etc.
  • Responds to customer inquiries with pre-authorized plans and equal payment plans
  • Provide information about security deposits and process exceptions within approved policies and guidelines.
  • Works with customers to help them understand their energy consumption profile while promoting energy conservation and corporate initiatives to create better electrical consumption awareness; and recommend solutions to reduce electricity consumption and costs.
  • Schedule customer reconnections and appointments; issue field activity for external work to be completed
  • Provides customer support during power outages
  • Understanding of Privacy Legislation, and its application within the department
  • Familiarity with Ontario Energy Board compliance requirements and regulation

Position Purpose

The Director, Enterprise Risk provides leadership on corporate risk identification, assessment and remediation; risk event tracking; assisting in the business continuity program coordination; and generally all corporate governance risks.  As a resource to the Audit and Finance Committee, Executives, Managers, Supervisors, employees, and external stakeholders this position is responsible for providing training, communications and project management relating to any issues of enterprise risk.

Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities

  • Responsible for the leadership, innovation, governance, and management necessary to identify, evaluate, and monitor the company’s operational and strategic risk – both reactive (ie: evaluating risk from non-conformance or emergency situation) or proactive.
  • Responsible to facilitate management’s mitigation of risk.
  • Ensures the organization’s risk management policies and strategies are in compliance with applicable regulations and strategic requirements of the organization.
  • Monitors and analyzes risks within the company’s business units and reports on these risks to the Board.
  • Provides key inputs into the company’s enterprise risk or other committees that oversee the enterprise risk management process and ensures alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Participate in annual strategic planning for enterprise risk management program needs and objectives.
  • Develops and delivers clear, effective and timely reports and updates for senior management and/or the Board regarding enterprise risk management program effectiveness, initiatives and issues, including relevant metrics, dashboards and information.
  • Develops and implements Enterprise Risk Management tools, practices, and programs to analyze and report on enterprise risks.
  • Implements and executes effective monitoring, tracking and reporting procedures to ensure the success of the programs, as measured by regular assessments and metric-based analysis.
  • Keeps abreast of changing enterprise risk management requirements and variables, including relevant laws, rules, industry standards, company practices and technology initiatives.
  • Develops and implement best practices in Enterprise Risk Management.
  • Works with all areas of the company to identify new or evolving risks.
  • Works with risk owners to ensure risks are being analyzed and plans are being created to track and mitigate risks.
  • Provides overall direction for consistent risk prioritization and reporting across the company
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) in Business Administration or a related field required
  • CMA/CGA/CA/CPA designation
  • Must hold and maintain a valid class “G” driver’s license

Specialized Knowledge

  • Solid understanding of risk management, risk modeling, compliance and risk reporting systems
  • Ability to translate detail into clear, concise, insightful executive communications

Experience
