Job Description

Summary

Reporting to the Director, Internal Audit & Enterprise Risk Management, the IT Audit Manager will have the opportunity to work on audits, advisories and management requests covering many areas of AltaLink’s IT, OT and operations. You will be part of a team that evaluates the effectiveness of the company’s risk management, control and governance processes. Assignments will include audits and reviews of various business processes, with the aim of determining the adequacy, effectiveness and/or efficiency of existing procedures in IT/OT and other areas of the business. You will provide value-added recommendations and advice to management for improvements to operations.

Responsibilities:

Execute all aspects of risk-based IT and other audits including planning, interviews, document review and system testing, process observation and analysis.
Manage or lead a number of IT and other audits including identifying the risks and controls to the assignments and promotion of best practice methods and practices.
Report on the overall position including the aggregate impact of risks or weaknesses exposed, supporting conclusions and recommend appropriate actions to Senior Management.
Build strong relationships and work collaboratively with stakeholders to identify areas for improvement and advise on risk and control best practices.
Work with the business to identify and document effective IT general controls as part of internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR).
Assist in the preparation of the annual audit plan and quarterly reports submitted to the Audit Committee.
Act as a leader within the audit team and provide guidance to other members of the internal audit team as it relates to IT and other audits on the plan.
Provide industry knowledge and technical expertise and coaching to Internal Auditors to build capacity and capability of the Internal Audit Team Data Analytics responsibilities.
Serve as Internal Audit’s Subject Matter Expert and team lead for all analytic techniques in order to maximize benefit and perspective to audit teams.
Develop and employ new or existing data analytics and visualization to business units as requested and provide insight and guidance on the interpretation of reported exceptions/analytic output so that appropriate actions are taken by the audit team.
Advanced knowledge of audit principles, practices and methodologies acquired through 3-5+ years of experience in an internal and/or external audit role.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 7 years working experience.
Proven ability to lead execution of audits both individually and with a team.
Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) designation, and preference for CISSP/CRISC/ CISM designation.
ISO 27001 lead auditor certification or similar experience preferred.
Knowledge of Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) and Critical Security Controls (CSC) preferred Proven proficiency in risk frameworks (COSO/COBITNIST) and ability to understand and identify risks associated with new technology.
Proven ability/experience in the above noted responsibilities.
Demonstrated knowledge of networks technology, operating systems, system development, client/server architecture, cloud and virtual machines platforms and how they interact with business processes.
Data Analytic experience and knowledge in data mining, data analytics, continuous monitoring / auditing and report preparation, leveraging tools such as SQL, ACL, Alteryx, Tableau, Microsoft Access, Excel.
3-5 years of experience identifying and testing CSOX or SOX controls in a SAP environment.
Solid business analytical skills and ability to understand complex business concepts, functions or processes, identify risks and mitigation activities, assess effectiveness of those activities and develop recommendations for issues identified.
Advanced communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to express thoughts in an organized, concise manner and listen to the issues of others in a manner that elicits cooperation and support.
Excellent decision making, problem solving and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently as well as demonstrate good team-work.
Ability to multi-task, attention to detail, strong analytical skills, healthy professional skepticism.
Ability to provide leadership, technical guidance and coaching to team members.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interface with team members and customers to promote positive customer outcomes.
Proven track record of good performance and attendance.

AltaLink is recruiting for the position of Manager, Financial Systems. We are seeking a results-oriented, ambitious individual to join our team. You excel as both a team player and individual contributor, and you are passionate about working in a dynamic, fast-paced organization that is striving to develop people through a broad range of experiences. Reporting directly to the Vice President, Controller, you will be responsible for all systems matters related to the preparation of complete, accurate and timely financial and management reports for the Partnership, its owners and managers. You will also be responsible for managing process improvement initiatives within the Accounting/Payroll group and participating in such initiatives on a cross-functional basis across the company. You will be expected to develop effective working relationships with diverse groups within AltaLink and provide them with analysis and support, as well as the systems implications of critical accounting issues.

Key Accountabilities:

• Manage the Financial Systems and Payroll group, and take ownership of, and be accountable for, the actions and results of the group;

• Provide leadership, coaching, mentorship, and development for staff;

• Assist the Financial Reporting group in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and management and other reports by extracting and formatting related information from the accounting system;

• Review and assess risks, SAP segregation of duties, controls using ISO and C-SOX models;

• Identify, or work with others to identify, system process improvements as part of the Business Transformation project within the Accounting/Payroll group or the accounting elements of company-wide system process improvements;

• Work with business users and IT to evaluate design alternatives for Business Transformation and system process improvements;

• Prepare analyses and supporting information for system process improvements;

• Develop project plans to implement agreed changes to accounting systems as part of the Business Transformation project;

• Manage and execute the projects to implement the agreed changes;

• Provide consulting advice to senior management within the Accounting group regarding the systems implications related to the implementation of critical accounting issues;

• Provide system support or guidance to the members of the Accounting/Payroll group;

• Develop effective working relationships with the key stakeholders, particularly the SAP management group; and

• Carry out other duties, as required, at the direction of the Controller, such as acting as the delegate for the Controller at steering committee meetings.

Qualifications:

• Professional accounting designation with at least five years of progressive related experience;

• Excellent knowledge of financial reporting and financial systems including consolidation and elimination entries;

• Oracle or SAP accounting experience is strongly desired;

• Experience with regulatory accounting would be an asset;

• Prior experience at a supervisory or management level is required;

• Proven experience in the above noted responsibilities;

• Strong leadership skills;

• Ability to manage and assist team on multiple competing priorities;

• Ability to create an inclusive environment;

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interface with team members and customers to promote positive customer outcomes; and

Summary
In support of our growth strategy, AltaLink’s Project Delivery Group is currently looking for a Project Manager who will be responsible for the delivery coordination of substation related capital projects. The primary focus will be to manage the design, cost, quality, schedule, and safety for multiple projects. This role will involve the project management of both customer driven projects and internally-driven Capital Upgrade & Replacement projects.

This permanent or term position is based out of the Calgary office, and will report to the Manager, Substation Delivery within the Projects Department.

Key Accountabilities

·  Effectively setup and manage multiple projects within a matrix organization, ranging up to $5 Million each from inception to completion, from a total annual budget of up to $60 Million;

·  With a commitment to Safety and Environment, actively manage and report on Safety and Environment;

·  Lead a team through the Siting and regulatory approval processes;

·  Act as a key contact with clients throughout project execution reporting progress in a timely and efficient manner and obtaining approval for all scope and schedule changes;

·  Manage a number of consultants and contractors throughout project execution;

·  Manage and coordinate multiple customers and changing priorities;

·  Effectively and accurately report project status, finances, and schedule for senior management;

·  Manage AltaLink’s identity with clients and stakeholders affected by Substations Projects;

·  Evaluate future years project feasibility, and create a Project Proposal with a preliminary scope, estimate and schedule; and

·  Manage and communicate with consultants and AltaLink project team members on project scope, objectives, accountabilities and commitments.

Qualifications

·  University Bachelor Degree(s) in Engineering required;

·  Professional Engineer or Engineer-in-Training with the Association of Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA) or qualifies for registration with APEGA;

·  Minimum 3 years’ experience in project management role in transmission/utility/or relevant EPC required;

·  Proven ability/experience in the above noted responsibilities;

·  Experience working with Substation engineering/construction would be an asset;

·  Project Management Certification would be an asset;

·  Experience in leading multi-discipline teams within a matrix organization;

·  Demonstrated leadership capability;

·  Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interface with team members and customers to promote positive customer outcomes;

·  Comfortable working in a dynamic changing environment;

·  Capable of managing multiple competing priorities;

A position exists for a developmental role as an Account Representative reporting to the Director, Customer Service in the Customer Service organization of AltaLink. The AR will be accountable for coordinating action across AltaLink to ensure customers are satisfied with AltaLink’s services. The role requires strong relationship building skills, leadership skills and the ability to coordinate action at various levels in both AltaLink and the Customer organizations.

Responsibilities:

As an AR, the individual will maintain proactive business relationships with AltaLink’s customers including:

  • Understanding the key business drivers, priorities and concerns of AltaLink’s customers.
  • Coordinating action within AltaLink delivery teams to resolve customer concerns.
  • Participating on cross-functional teams to enable changes beneficial to customers and to AltaLink.
  • Creating and revising Interconnection Agreements and Operating Procedures in coordination with System Operations.
  • Support the execution of customer survey processes, analyze results, develop strategies to improve service and achieve customer satisfaction targets.
  • Following and continuously improving customer delivery processes.
  • Planning and leading the execution of annual site review meetings for assigned existing customers.
  •   Designing and delivering programs to continuously advance AltaLink’s customer service capabilities.
  •    Developing briefing documents for Executive leadership with guidance and support.
  •    Identifying, developing and strengthening relationships with customer contacts at various levels including operational, business development, and commercial.
  • Designing and hosting customer events to strengthen AltaLink’s reputation with customers, and promote AltaLink’s corporate image.
  • Facilitating the completion of behind the fence projects in support of customer changes at existing locations.
  • Guiding assigned customers through the Alberta Electric System Operator’s Connection Process.
  • Initiating commercial arrangements for customers including contracting, invoicing and managing financial securities.
  • Represent AltaLink on business process teams as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Education equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor degree in business administration, legal, marketing, communications, or a related field.
  • Minimum of three years experience in marketing, customer service or public relations field.
  • Proven ability/experience in the above noted responsibilities.
  • Understanding of generation, distribution and transmission business is considered a plus.
  • Exceptional facilitation skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to interface with team members and customers to promote positive customer outcomes.   Demonstrated skills in negotiation, conflict management, and communication of complex concepts.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.

Summary

An opportunity exists for a Substation Technologist with the Transmission Field Operations team located in our Lethbridge area field office.  Reporting to the Manager, Substations South, this position will be part of a multi-disciplinary team responsible for the operation and maintenance of Altalink’s transmission substations in Alberta. The successful candidate will be required to reside in the greater Lethbridge area.

Responsibilities

  • Operate, inspect and maintain substation equipment (4160V- 500KV) associated with the AltaLink transmission system.
  • Provide maintenance planning, schedulers and Altalink Control Center staff with information regarding equipment status, and recommend improvements or replacements.
  • Trouble response for stations facilities in the area.
  • Assist and support other disciplines as required.
  • Assist the Substations team on Capital upgrade and replacement work.
  • Assist the Substation team with new technologies that include SVC and PST.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from a related and recognized Technologist Diploma program preferably Electrical Technology.
  • Power System Electrician Journeyman Certificate would be an asset.
  • Proven ability/experience in the above noted responsibilities.
  • Be competent and comfortable working with computers and spreadsheets.
  • Willing to develop skills and a career in the Substation Technologist discipline.
  • Effective communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills to interface with team members and customers to promote positive outcomes.
  • Ability to work independently and part of a team.
  • Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills with the ability to work within strict deadlines.
