Job Description

The College is currently looking for a Service Worker to support and contribute to our Campus Development team.

Take Initiative. If you are the type of person who takes pride in your work and takes initiative to get the job done to the satisfaction of your clients, then we want to hear from you! As the Service Worker, you will primarily perform general maintenance and/or custodial duties, grounds work, pick up and deliver equipment and supplies, operate delivery vehicles, assist with ordering and receiving supplies, equipment and other items as required. Following established safety policies and procedures when performing work and operating equipment should also come natural to you.
Deliver Results. In order to deliver the results required, you will have related education and/or training and experience in either the custodial field, maintenance, logistics/material management, warehouse operations or in a related field. Experience with operating the appropriate machinery, tools and associated equipment (pallet jacks, cleaning equipment, forklifts, mowers etc.) is preferred. As you will be driving a delivery vehicle in this role, a valid class 5 driver’s license and satisfactory driver’s abstract are required. You also must be willing to obtain and complete WHMIS training and have general computer knowledge.

The School of Trades & Technology is looking for a skilled, experienced and passionate individual to teach in our Plumbing apprenticeship and pre-employment programs.

If you are passionate about your trade and feel you are ready to share your knowledge with others, this could be the right fit for you. Our “learn by doing” philosophy is incorporated throughout our plumbing and pre-employment plumbing programs. Instructors provide our students with a broad mix of trade fundamentals by engaging our students through a variety of intriguing lessons and hands-on experiences that prepare them for the plumbing trade where they advance as apprentices.
Take Initiative.
You will provide exceptional learning experiences for students through in-class lectures and in-shop demonstrations. You will be responsible for the development and revision of curriculum. Our instructors provide leadership and mentoring to students and work with them to find their first work placements.
Deliver Results.
In order to deliver results you will be a Journeyperson plumber with Red Seal certification and a gas fitter’s license. You will have several years of broad industry experience with the plumbing code and residential plumbing practices. You will be a friendly individual who gains strength from communicating with others and is at ease when it comes to using a computer. You will have at minimum a “B” gas fitters license with preference given to those with an “A” ticket and more than 5 years of trade experience. Experience teaching adults is not required but would be an asset
