Knowledge and Information Services (K&IS) is a business line within the Corporate Services Department, an internal service department within the Bank’s Corporate Administration function. K&IS provides information resources, services, tools, systems and policies which help Bank staff effectively access, utilize, manage, and share quality information to effectively accomplish the Bank’s business goals. We provide research and reference services; management of the Bank of Canada Archives; acquisition, management and, training on the use, of published data and information resources; advice and solutions on managing corporate records; and delivers support and training related to the Bank’s SharePoint document management system.
What you will do
Reporting to the Manager, Lifecyle and Archives, the Records Management Analyst applies knowledge of records management theories, principles, practices, and methodologies to assist clients plan, use, organize, dispose, and preserve their information.
Specifically, you will
- apply Bank of Canada information standards (e.g. the Corporate Retention Matrix, Categorization Matrix, functional classification, metadata standards, etc.) using a variety of specialized tools (e.g. Collabspace, Collabmail, SharePoint Online, Minisis) to classify, describe, organize, retrieve, preserve and life-cycle manage information
- respond to client requests and ensure that records, archive operations process, services and products meet stakeholder and client business requirements and K&IS’ service levels and standards
- provide advice, guidance and technical assistance to help clients solve complex and specialized issues and challenges related to long-term management of information
- resolve problems and support team members on appropriate processing procedures for complex or unusual issues and determines when to escalate issues or problems
- support annual corporate disposition process of physical and electronic records and collaborate with colleagues for electronic lifecycle planning
What you need to succeed
You are passionate about records management and have outstanding organization, attention to detail, time management and managing multiple work priorities skills. You have a proven ability in applying records and information management related principles, practices and standards knowledge in order to provide solutions to resolve client needs. You are a problem solver with relationship management skills. You have the ability to elicit, assess, prioritize and act on client needs within K&IS’ service levels and standards as well as proven ability to apply and configure records and archives management concepts and practices into a variety of systems. You have the ability to bend, climb ladders, stand or sit for long periods of time, and lift boxes weighing up to 14 kg.
Nice-to-have
- knowledge of the Bank’s functions
- work experience using electronic records management (ERM) systems, ServiceNow, and Iron Mountain Connect and Microsoft Excel
- knowledge of the Bank’s organisational structure, corporate goals and objectives, business lines, information inputs and outputs, and client’s business activities
Your education and experience
This position requires a college diploma in library, records or information related information services field AND a minimum of two years of work experience in records or information management and/or library science or an equivalent of education and experience may be considered.

- Language requirement: English and French essential (bilingual) with a minimum starting level of functional (level 4) in second official language. Training may be provided to help reach the required level of fully functional (level 5) in second official language.

This role will further evolve the Bank’s travel and expense management programs. We are currently transforming our expense management function which will present opportunities to work on the implementation of the new tools and evolution of programs and policies.
What you will do
As a Corporate Travel and Expenses Lead, you will act as the Bank subject matter expert in business travel and expense management functions. You will take the lead in evolution and management of these programs. You will build and manage relationships with third-party providers/suppliers and internal stakeholders for the relevant services and products.
The successful candidate will manage applicable contracts and lead small to medium projects related to business travel and expense management programs, including collaborating with IT on systems-related changes and improvements. You will develop and continuously update applicable programs and policies to ensure they remain current and relevant to the industry developments and the Bank’s internal environment evolution. You will also lead and manage the proactive disclosure of the Bank executives’ travel and hospitality expenses including the publication of proactive disclosure reports.
What you need to succeed
We are looking for a self-starter who is dynamic and has a strategic mindset. The ideal candidate is someone who has experience leading the development of policies and managing programs.
You have significant experience in building and managing strong relationships as well as experience with contract management and negotiations.
As a Corporate Travel and Expenses Lead, you have excellent writing skills, specifically in policy development, reports, recommendations and briefing notes. You demonstrate problem solving, solution seeking and change management skills.

Hybrid Work Model & Remote work #LI-Remote
The Bank is moving towards a hybrid working model which allows employees to telework up to 50 percent of the time, balanced over a two-week period. Since this position is temporary it can be staffed remotely from anywhere in Canada for those candidates not within commuting distance to the Bank office.

Salaries are based on qualifications and experience and typically range from $81,865 to $96,310 (job grade 16)
Depending on performance, you may be eligible for performance pay for successfully meeting (5 to 7% of your base salary) or for exceeding expectations (10% of your base salary). Exceptional performers who far exceed expectations may be eligible for higher performance pay.
