Job Description

Build and maintain relationship with the distribution network in the region.
Build and maintain relationships with the Golf and Lawn Care customers in the region.
Drive the external sales force (e.g., agents/distributor reps/retailers) to create value for Bayer range of product.
Work with key influencers to install and demonstrate the value of Bayer products and services.
Manage time and focus across multiple market segments.
Create and present the product line review to the customers and end users in the region.
Provide the high level of technical product training and support to the key customers and end users with the support of appropriate Bayer Technical Development Manager.
Create demand at the end user level. Analyze end user regional sales monthly and propose market share development plans to management on a quarterly basis.
Report market evolution and competitor activities monthly.
Manage customer complaints and inquiries within area with support from regional stewardship managers.

Who you are:

Achieves or exceeds territory sales budgets.
Advanced knowledge of crop protection and the seed business.
Strong agronomic skills.
Understanding of regional market issues affecting this territory.
Bachelor’s Degree in Science or related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
Excellent presentation and selling skills, including use of support software.
High capacity to define priorities and to allocate time resources.
Excellent technical knowledge Golf and Lawn Care marketplace.
Strong knowledge of application equipment would be an asset.
Ability to manage execution of all channel programs and marketing concepts.
Precise and concise reporting.
Valid driver’s license in good standing and ability to operate motor vehicles safely.

Research Assistant

Bayer Canada – Crop Science Division is seeking a one-year term Production Research Assistant to become part of the breeding organization. The individual will assist in all phases of a comprehensive Canola breeding and trait integration processes. This is a unique opportunity to work with leading edge technology and talented research scientists seeking to deliver the best products in Bayer’s canola pipeline.

Bayer is committed to a flexible hybrid working environment. This is a 12-month term position and is based out of Winnipeg, Manitoba.

What you will do: 

  • Manage the day-to-day organization and maintenance of growth room projects including, but not limited to seeding, transplanting, self & cross pollinating, harvesting & threshing
  • Manage general plant care, disease, and insect control in growth rooms
  • Use of herbicides or other chemical applications under supervision and following the company’s policies and procedures
  • Efficiently & effectively carryout all detailed record keeping, molecular marker tissue sampling, chemical spraying and other technical objectives
  • Maintain tidiness & orderliness within the workplace
  • Supervise and train temporary employees as required
  • Work closely with other research staff to coordinate and implement process improvements
  • Participate in task-related document creation and process review for job-related activities
  • Manage team to successfully develop & maintain HSE and Quality Management standards
  • Assist in other projects & performs other duties as required

Who you are: 

  • Degree or diploma in agricultural/biological science or related field or equivalent
  • Outstanding organizational skills and ability to prioritize daily tasks
  • Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary/multicultural research team
  • Highly motivated, results oriented, with the ability to work with people individually or in a team to gain commitment to achieve those results
  • Possess strong ability to work accurately and pay attention to detail
  • Learning agility and ability to learn new procedures
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas in a clear, concise and actionable manner
  • Strong computer literacy, with experience using Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Share point.
  • Ability to work extended hours during peak seasons
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs
  • Previous experience in Canola and/or plant breeding
  • Knowledge of crop production or growth room production methodologies
  • Hybrid research experience
  • Ability to obtain pesticide applicator license.

Job Description

The successful candidate will have demonstrated strong examples of the desired core and leadership competencies, skills and previous experience required to excel in this position.  The incumbent will promote a General Medicine Cardiovascular Product to targeted specialty customers and will implement promotional brand strategies as outlined in the marketing plan in order to achieve his/her territory sales objectives.

What you will do:

  • Achieve territory sales targets by developing, adapting, and implementing business plans in alignment with evolving territory business priorities
  • Schedule and conduct sales calls with decision makers both virtually and in person when permitted with key prescribers while respecting all relevant company health and safety protocols and provincial COVID-19 health restrictions. This involves executing virtual sales interactions on various videoconferencing platforms including Zoom, MS Teams and Veeva Engage
  • Map territory, profile customers and identify their level of influence within territory
  • Refine and manage strategic target lists that capture high potential customers for key brands/portfolio
  • Organize, maintain, and monitor territory through account management and CRM tools including Veeva
  • Maximize investment of all territory budgets
  • Establish and maintain two-way communication channels with Area Business Manager and territory partners on all issues through regular communications
  • Work in partnership with Territory Business Representatives to identify and implement strategic initiatives, customer development and educational programs
  • Attend and participate in all sales meetings while abiding by applicable company health & safety policies
  • Work collaboratively within an Area, Regional and National sales team
  • Collaborate on tactics with several Territory Business Representatives within broad geographical scope of territory
  • Lead/mentor by example with respective Territory Business Representatives
  • Adhere to all Corporate and Innovation Medicines Canada Code of Ethical Practices

Who you are:

  • Bachelor’s degree. Science or Business Administration preferred
  • Positive and winning attitude
  • Minimum 5 years of pharmaceutical sales experience
  • Commitment to ongoing learning and professional development
  • Strong and proven teamwork orientation
  • Be familiar with key health care practitioners within the community
  • Proven track record in sales and excellence in customer service
  • Demonstrated level of competence in business acumen, dealing with ambiguity, drive for results, communication, teamwork, leadership, planning and organizational skills
