Summary
The primary objective of the Cybersecurity Analyst is to monitor security alerts for potential malicious activity in the Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) environment. These roles are in an environment that operates 24x7x365 over 3 shifts (day, evening, and night). Each team member completing day, evening, and overnight shifts with one full paid week off per full rotation!
Principal Duties
- Monitor security alerts of potentially malicious activity detected by security systems such as Firewalls, Intrusion Detection and Prevention Systems (NIDS/NIPS, HIDS/HIPS, WIDS), Log Monitoring, File Integrity Monitoring and SIEM;
- Determine and classify the severity of alerts and assess potential impacts;
- Report and investigate potential security incidents;
- Provide recommendations to clients for containment and eradication of threats;
- Provide Incident Response (IR) support when analysis confirms an actionable incident;
- Update security operations processes and procedures;
- Conduct research, consult with colleagues and training to maintain awareness of trends in new security threats, technologies, and regulations;
- Assist in IT security investigations, exercises and tests;
- Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
Training/Experience
- Analytical and problem-solving skills;
- Ability to manage multiple tasks;
- Willingness to learn and improve;
- Basic knowledge and experience with Unix/Linux operating systems is required;
- Understanding the technical aspects of the Information Security;
- Experience with IT Security products and services, ideally related to SIEM (Splunk ES/ IBM QRadar) and others is an asset;
- Knowledge of Microsoft Windows server;
- Programming and scripting skills;
- IT Security Certifications like CISSP, CISM, CISA, CEH, GCIH, GCIA, OSCP, CCNA, NSE, JNCIA, etc. is an asset
- Good English communication skills (written and oral);
- Bilingual French and English is a strong asset;
- Must possess or be able to attain Secret security clearance.

Job Description
- Responsible for understanding the importance of information security risks and safeguarding information assets against potential security vulnerabilities
- Utilize the company’s ticket system to monitor and respond to support requests from customers across Canada on a 24/7 rotational basis
- Diagnose, research, and resolve technical hardware and software issues using all available information resources
- Onboarding/offboarding of employees
- Respond to Corporate IT support requests
- Advise end users on appropriate remedial action
- Research and proactively implement solutions to improve the end-user experience
- Assist in developing documentation and standard operating procedures
- Work with the Infrastructure Team on projects and drive them to completion
- Provide remote assistance to a mobile workforce
- Perform other operational tasks as assigned
- 1 to 3 years’ experience in a Desktop Support/Help Desk role or related IT field
- Strong customer service orientation
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
- Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to conduct research into current technology issues and products as required
- Exceptional written, oral and interpersonal skills, with a focus on listening and questioning skills
- Demonstrated experience supporting Windows server and desktop, Active directory and MacOS
- Ability to work unsupervised and still deliver on assigned tasks and duties in a timely manner
- Must possess or be able to attain Secret Security Clearance (Those without security clearance will have the process sponsored and managed by BriteSky).
- Linux system deployment and troubleshooting

- Virtualized systems: VMware ESXi, virtual guest deployment and troubleshooting
- Back-office systems experience: Active Directory, DNS, MS Exchange, WSUS, file services, etc.
- Familiarity with mobile device management
- Knowledge of layer-2 networking
- Atlassian products (Jira/Confluence)
