Who we are
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Vice President, Investments will strategically manage the investments for the pension plan, insurance assets and corporate assets to achieve the desired business objectives.
Position Details
What You Will Do
- Review the performance and investment results of the corporate and pension investment portfolios on a quarterly basis
- Identify opportunities to improve investment returns on the current portfolio
- Develop an investment plan and a program for pension plan de-risking
- Review in conjunction with the Audit and Risk Committee, asset allocation to determine if portfolios are positioned most effectively to meet internal rate of return goals and assigned investment goals within acceptable risk parameters
- Monitor the performance of the management team, investment managers, investment consultants and plan custodians
- Monitor compliance with the Statement of Investment Policy and Procedures (SIPPs) and governing legislation
- Monitoring the economy and the market; maintain understanding of economic impact on portfolios and an understanding of current market environment across asset classes
- Conduct asset/asset-liability studies
- Streamline monthly, quarterly and annual reporting
- Actively educate the Board on pension and investment issues
- Report to the Board the performance and results of the corporate and pension investment portfolios, the portfolio’s compliance with SIPP and governing legislations
- Recommend to the Board the SIPPs, including any changes in the strategic asset mix
- Recommend to the Board the appointment and termination of investment managers, investment consultants and plan custodians as required
- Carry out year-end production, pension administration and regulatory filings
Who You Are
- A minimum of 10 years in a senior investment management capacity within a pension plan, endowment, foundation, or corporate treasury
- Experience with pension de-risking and asset-liability management in a sophisticated investment environment including: reviews of underlying liability structure, asset allocation, manager selection and oversight, and risk assessment on all dimensions
- An identifiable and successful investment track record
- Experience managing an investment fund with a “steady hand” – in a range of investment environments – and ability to demonstrate a long-term and capital preservation-oriented approach to investing, with smart and prudent “risk taking” where appropriate
- Ideally, will have worked with an investment committee and/or board of directors, and developed a reputation as one who builds an effective interface with a committee / board, as well as one who successfully carries out the mandated investment management responsibilities
- Experience in people management
- Experience in pension and/or insurance industry is required

Position Details
- Support the team to provide campaign services to serve marketing lines of business (LOBs) to achieve their business objectives including acquisition, retention, sales and customer engagement
- Identify data/process issues in daily business support
- Generate campaign lists based on pre-defined criteria. Ensure all lists are scrubbed against the mandatory purge criteria for contact rules compliance
- Identify campaign list pulls and processes automation opportunities in business support. Maximize one’s work automation accordingly by following the standardized code/logic
- Develop and maintain robust and user-friendly Power BI reports and dashboards for campaign performance tracking or day-to-day business operations
- Monitor and analyze variances and performance trends through reports
- The successful candidate will have a post-secondary degree in a related field (economics, mathematics, statistics, business or engineering)
- 1+ years of database marketing experience in retail, travel, insurance, automotive, CRM or loyalty
- 1+ years of SAS/SQL programming with large database. Advanced SAS/SQL programmer certificate
- 1+ years of BI reporting and visualization tools such as Microsoft Power BI, Tableau
- SAP is an asset
- Data mining and predictive modeling is an asset
