Position Summary:

The UX/UI Design Student will have a range of activities spanning the design process, including but not limited to user research, user flows, solution ideation, and prototyping. Designs will include products targeting user experiences in the physical and digital worlds. Design work will be done in collaboration with stakeholders and other designers on the team.

What you’ll do:

  • Participate in brainstorm/ideation sessions with users and stakeholders to help define project/product goals
  • Collaborate with team members (including designers, developers, product leads, etc.)
  • Adhere to and promote best practices in UI, UX, and interaction design
  • Build and deliver users flows, wireframes, mock-ups, interactive prototypes, and other design specification materials
  • Contribute positively to team culture and help create a collaborative, innovative, and supportive team environment

Canadian Tire Jumpstart Charities is a national charity committed to helping kids of all abilities in communities across Canada participate in sport, recreation, and play. Sport and being part of a team foster self-esteem and teach valuable life skills like courage, confidence, and teamwork. The vision of Jumpstart is simple: a Canada where all kids have a chance to fulfill their dreams. Reporting to the Manager, Program Development the Advisor, Gender, Equity & Intersectionality will administer Jumpstart’s Gender Equity portfolio including the leadership program, all partnerships and granting.

What you’ll do

Leadership Program Administration

  • Assist with coordinating weekly meetings and a status report leading up to and after the launch of the program, including acting as a liaison ensuring that all focus areas and leads are on track before and after the launch of the program
  • Assist with coordinating all aspects of the Ambassador Program, including but not limited to:
  • Communication
  • Legal/privacy requirements
  • Contracts
  • Event coordination
  • Technology
  • Participants
  • Monitor and report program successes and opportunities and implement improvements for future years
  • Track and report against program outcomes

Gender Equity Administration

  • Administer all aspects of the Gender Equity Program Grant and partnerships including relationship management, application and grant evaluation design, and reporting
  • Build, maintain and continually evolve tools, communication, and resources to support grant applicants
  • Maintain expert knowledge of granting best practices and internal and external trends in granting
  • Programmatic Research and Evaluation – Support data and reporting requirements through the preparation of a variety of reports.  This includes data extraction, evaluation, research, monitoring and communication of key performance indicators.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and a demonstrated ability to pro-actively identify and build value added recommendations
  • Proven track record of delivering precise reports and analysis
  • Strong cross-functional relationship building ability
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Strong MS Excel, Access, and PowerPoint skills
  • Results oriented, flexible, and willing to work in a multi-task and dynamic work environment
  • High degree of customer service and focus
  • Passionate about increasing opportunities for children and youth to participate in sport and recreation
  • Experience in a similar capacity within the not-for-profit sector is an asset
  • Bilingual (French) an asset
