Position Summary:
the Applicant Conversion Communications Officer (ACCO) is a strategic position responsible for coordinating, implementing and maintaining a comprehensive, streamlined, and deliberate communication experience that keeps applicants engaged and drives enrolment.
Supporting the College’s overall strategic enrolment goals, the ACCO targets and compels applicants through the admissions funnel to enroll in the College. This includes ensuring systematic follow-up of applicants with missing admission requirements, who have not yet accepted their offers, or have not paid their deposits or registered for classes. The College’s programs include full-time, part-time, apprenticeship, and micro-credential programs offered in-person, online, or through hyflex modalities in all major intake periods (Fall, Winter, and Summer).
Following the College’s positioning, brand guidelines and sales best practices, the ACCO writes and edits compelling applicant messaging that is innovative, personalized, relevant, timely, accurate, and engaging for a variety of coordinated media tools, including CRM, email, text messaging, print, presentations, and calling campaigns.
The ACCO coordinates and provides direction to a team of students and support staff and participates in ongoing conversion strategies, such as email and calling campaigns, with an aim to persuade applicants to attend an on-campus or virtual event, accept their offer of admission, pay their fees, and register for classes.
The position will develop strong working relationships and partnerships with internal stakeholders from the College’s Academic Schools, service departments, ES Systems, recruitment, admissions, events, communications, and marketing departments.
Responsibilities:
- Implements, monitors, and updates comprehensive communication strategies to applicants and incoming students and other key stakeholders;
- Monitors and collects feedback and insights from conversion campaigns for each intake (Fall, Winter, and Summer), including total outbound emails or calls made, applicant level response rates and common questions from applicants.
- Writes and edits compelling copy for various media (email campaigns, digital media, presentations, text messaging, phone campaigns, webinars, etc.) to compel applicants through the admissions funnel to registered student;
- Ensures communication plans are executed accordingly, and key/critical communications are delivered by required deadlines throughout the admission cycle;
- Coordinates and provides direction to a team of students and support staff and participates in ongoing conversion strategies and campaigns, such as calling campaigns and webinars, with an aim to persuade applicants to attend an on-campus or virtual event, accept their offer of admission, pay their deposits, or register for classes;
- Responds to a wide variety of regulatory, general, and detailed information requests through email, phone, and text messaging regarding Centennial programs, pathways, and subject offerings, admission requirements and deadlines, as well as general College inquiries;
- Ensures the quality of all person records within the CRM by removing duplicates, merging related records, and cleaning data as required;
Qualifications/Experience:
- 3-year diploma or degree in Advertising, marketing management, or a related field of study.
- Minimum three (3) years relevant experience in marketing/communications/copywriting and understanding of target audiences that engages an audience through storytelling;
- Proven experience with writing and editing of copy, and proofreading content, layout and brand recognition;
- Experience with Client Relationship Management (CRM) tools
- Experience using and conducting such strategies as A/B, multivariate, or usability testing, and surveys and focus groups of various audiences.
- Experience using reporting tools to generate and review reports
- Experience working in sales, or student recruitment, particularly within a postsecondary context, would be considered an asset.
- Familiar with both CASL legislation and AODA standards in the context of postsecondary communications/marketing
- Demonstrates an ability to undertake substantive and complex administrative tasks (e.g. analyzing demographic and market trends)
- Outstanding strategic, creative, and conceptual copywriting and editing skills for various media
- Strong proofreading and editing skills
- Demonstrates the ability to communicate through a variety of mediums to readers (prospects and influencers) from culturally diverse environments.
- Ability to manage diverse projects and shifting priorities within tight timelines
- Experience and understanding of the diverse needs of postsecondary domestic students, focusing on what engages and appeals to domestic students.
- The ability to work independently, to establish and meet priorities and exercise good judgment.
- Commitment to providing quality customer services
