The Director, Inbound Logistics is responsible for the timely, cost-effective and successful movement of procured products from vendors to Indigo’s distribution centre(s). This role develops, defines and implements the inbound strategy while also managing partnerships with third-party providers to deliver products that supports the company’s expanded assortment and customer offering. Partnering cross-functionally with merchant, inventory planning and supply chain team members, the Director will leverage key internal and external relationships to drive improvements in logistics and supply chain processes

WHAT YOU’LL DO: 

Strategic

  • Develop, define and implement Indigo’s inbound logistics strategy, leveraging the relationship with our freight forwarding partners
  • Support Indigo goals by executing on short to mid-term departmental goals (1 year)
  • Maintain a high level of strategic foresight by identifying customer and business needs, and adjusting departmental and team objectives accordingly

Functional

  • Manage the 3PL freight forwarding relationship with close monitoring of costs and service levels
  • Develop and deploy visibility and tracing reports for our inbound PO’s from origin to destination.
  • • Develop and report key cost and service metrics that align to the company’s financial goals
  • Drive consolidation of freight opportunities, increasing FTL and minimizing LTL
  • Accountable for inbound OPEX for freight and customs
  • Collaborate with vendors, merchants, planning, and DC’s to ensure smooth and timely flow of goods internationally to DC’s Drive operational improvements that minimize costs and increase service by working closely with internal and external stakeholders including planning and inventory, merchant, and distribution centre teams, freight forwarder and vendors
  • Lead quarterly business reviews, outlining key wins and challenges and developing strategies for improvement
  • Partner closely with planning and merchant teams to ensure on-time and in-full delivery PO’s to support success of Canadian and US businesses
  • Partner with DC teams to ensure planned inbound activities align with inbound DC capacities • Expand, develop, and manage sustainability reporting that align with corporate responsibility objectives
  • Collaborate with cross functional partners to identify opportunities to maximize success including transloading, packaging, PO consolidation
  • Lead Supply Chain projects from start to finish including RFQ processes, technology solutions/integrations and supplier performance reporting
  • Ensure the execution of team deliverables and adapt team priorities based on changing needs
  • Set/adhere to team budgets, as applicable
  • Act as an advocate for the customer by placing them at the forefront of all design and decision-making processes

Qualifications

WHO YOU ARE: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a similar or related field
  • 10 years’ experience working in leadership role with ownership of inbound freight activity both domestic and international
  • Expert level knowledge in air, ground and ocean freight and transload operations
  • Strong knowledge of customs, tariffs, regulations
  • P.Log, CITT, SCMP or any other supply chain certification is considered an asset

Job Description

At Indigo, the Manager, Digital Product is responsible for ensuring we build and deliver meaningful enhancements that create value for our millions of customers. With a focus on data quality, loyalty, traffic, SEO optimization and customer acquisition, the Manager identifies opportunities through an intense understanding of the market and the voice of the customer, engagement of the Indigo team, and thoughtful insights from data and analytics. The Manager will also work with a cross-functional product squad of designers, engineers and business specialists to build and deliver high quality software in the ecommerce space.

The Junior Designer is responsible for supporting the Design team in the creation and delivery of unique proprietary products from collaborative conceptualization through to final product. Create and maintain line charts for seasonal collections
Partner with the sourcing team on vendor selection for production of each collection item, considering each product’s specific requirements
Manage samples, ensuring that they meet quality and design standards, and present samples to key cross-functional partners on a seasonal basis
