What you’ll be doing
Join our Debt Capital Markets team as a Summer Analyst and become part of a team focused on delivering innovative banking and investment solutions to CIBC’s retail, wealth and business clients including corporates, governments and institutional clients around the world. Our Debt Capital Markets business is responsible for the origination of debt securities for government and corporate issuers in Canada and abroad. We provide regular market commentary on the debt capital markets, identify new issue opportunities, assist borrowers in developing a financing strategy, and execute new debt issues. Bonds are distributed to a broad range of institutional and retail investors domestically and internationally through CIBC’s trading/distribution offices located in Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, New York, London, and Tokyo.
As an Analyst with Debt Capital Markets, you will become an integral part of the fabric of CIBC’s Toronto-based trading room. The trading room environment is dynamic and fast-paced, requiring you to effectively process information in the course of executing transactions in a constantly changing market environment. Our Trading Room provides Analysts with an opportunity to gain applicable experience in infrastructure/project finance advisory, debt underwriting and the origination and execution of debt private placements. Analysts will need to be effective communicators capable of building relationships both internally and with clients. As an Analyst, you will have the responsibility of providing detailed analytical, financial modeling, structuring, research and transaction support to senior professionals in your business, helping to win business and execute transactions.

You are enrolled in an undergraduate degree in Commerce, Mathematics, Engineering, or Economics at the time of the internship.

How you’ll succeed
Project management – Your regular responsibilities include drafting of presentation materials, pricings and market updates as well as the production of offering materials such as private placement memorandums and investor presentations
Relationship building – You will participate in cross-functional teams and liaise with other units of CIBC Capital Markets in executing mandates or preparing proposals for clients. You will work with other members of the PP team in the origination and execution of private placements
Research and analytics – You will provide a broad range of analytical, research and presentation preparation support to the team.

What You’ll Be Doing
Join our Contact Centre team as a Fraud Agent in our Credit Cards Department and make a real difference for our clients.
You will answer to incoming calls from our credit cards clients as well as calls transferred from other departments.
You will assist clients with any identified fraudulent activities or scams on their credit card , identify their needs, and proactively suggest solutions and resolve issue.
Location: Remote for candidates who reside anywhere in Ontario
Start Date: July 25th , 2022
Availability: This is a full-time and shift oriented role. Our Contact Centre is open Monday to Sunday , 7:00 a.m. to Midnight.
Agent @ Home Program Requirements
Ability to work independently in a private and quiet workspace (ie. in a room or office with a door that closes)
Wired Internet connection capable of continuously supporting excellent call quality and high-speed response rate (internet connection can be connected to modem through hard cable (not wireless) with a minimum download speed of 15 mbps and upload speed of 10 mbps)
