What You’ll Be Doing
As an Associate Investment Advisor, you will join CIBC Wood Gundy and be engaged in all marketing and business development activities which are designed to facilitate the accumulation of assets, by identifying, attracting and converting prospects into clients of the Team. The Associate Investment Advisor also deploys assets into suitable financial products based on the client’s risk/reward tolerances. You will proactively service clients and address investment related questions.

Investing – Develop investment plans and written proposals for prospects and clients. Analyze information/trends and apply it to individual client circumstances.

What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll be accountable for supporting the development and oversight of programs and processes within the National Business Banking Office to ensure Business Banking is compliant with regulatory and risk requirements. The role will partner with CIBC infrastructure groups in support of the National Delivery, Sales and Service team . The role also supports the implementation of strategic initiatives in alignment with Personal and Business Banking priorities. The Consultant, Business Effectiveness is aligned with both the Business Banking sales force and the Business Advice Centre where additional support to the Director, Sales Measurement and Management is required.

How You’ll Succeed
Managing region’s risk profile by: managing and/or providing support in Risk Management activities with a heavy focus on Credit, Audit, Quarterly Continuous Audit and Monitoring and National Deficiencies; assessing and escalating operational risk issues requiring unique approvals that do not fall within existing processes; providing operational risk expertise to leaders within the assigned Region; acting as the liaison with Corporate Security, Loss Management and other Regulatory Risk services; and partner with senior leadership to research and recommend changes to credit risk policy that make CIBC more competitive in the market
Supporting research initiatives and communication of current and emerging external trends, practices, regulations, and issues relative to Business Banking as they pertain to CIBC and needs of our customers
Partnering with the Director, Packaged Loans & Partnership to facilitate agreements with lower risk loan packages nationally; partnering with the Director Credit Reviews and Escalations to build out policies to facilitate the submission and approvals of credits within CIBC’s risk appetite
Providing support in the development and execution of balanced “sales/service” focused action plans to mitigate business risks
Supporting regional escalations of non-compliance or breach of policies and coordinate meetings with required stakeholders for resolution
Leading and/or supporting operational initiatives that increase operational effectiveness and support leader in streamlining their operating model
Collaborating with the Sr. Manager/Sr. Consultant, Business Effectiveness to provide operational support for the execution of operational risk, market plan, standards, initiatives and established activities
Supporting the Director, Business Advice Centre in implementing key strategic initiatives to improve the experience of our clients, capability of our front line and increase efficiency
Investigating and responding to verbal/written referrals regarding problems/issues escalated to the National Office; ensure the appropriate escalation of systemic / regular issues of delivery of support services
Collaborating with the regional business effectiveness team to complete BRP/ORP plan in place for the region
Handling regional escalations of non-compliance or breach of policies and coordinate meetings with required stakeholders to ensure plan of action in place to address areas of non-compliance
