What’s the role?

As the Chief Risk Officer, you have advanced knowledge of credit and risk knowledge and methodologies; superior knowledge and experience pertaining to legal terminology, contracts, releases, and documentation; and have advanced understanding of credit union operations, principles, and values. You are responsible to develop and oversee the strategic direction of the credit union’s organizational risk, while providing leadership, management, and execution of strategy. Furthermore, as the Chief Risk Officer you are responsible for development oversight and continuous improvement of the organization’s three lines of risk defense.

This opportunity offers the ability to work remotely from anywhere in British Columbia.

What are we looking for?

Post-secondary business degree or diploma.
A risk management credential designation (such as CRM-E, FRM or CRMP) and/or equivalent combination of experience and education is an asset.
An MBA or CPA is an asset.
Ideally, you are a flexible, collaborative team player with:

Minimum 5 years of senior financial management, risk, or audit experience in a financial institution.
Minimum 7 years related experience in compliance, risk management and credit with an in-depth knowledge of lending, credit, and collections.
Minimum 10 years of progressive experience managing in a financial service environment, successfully developing and managing people and business development.
Knowledge of all applicable regulations.
Advanced knowledge of credit & risk management and methodologies.
Advanced understanding of credit union operations, principles, and values.
Superior knowledge and experience pertaining to legal terminology, contracts, releases, and documentation.
Proven experience in facilitating and leading of groups and/or teams of executive level positions.
Knowledge and experience of the functional and legal requirements of the Credit Union and its subsidiaries would be an asset.

Requirements

What are we looking for?

Successful completion of a Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma requiring 3-4 years of full-time study or equivalent combination of education and experience;
6-9 years of progressive financial experience;
3-4 years of progressive lending experience with lending limits;
Advanced understanding of lending policies and procedures;
Thorough understanding of credit union operations, principles and values.
Ideally, you are a flexible, collaborative team player with:

A comprehensive understanding of insured lending programs (i.e., CMHC/Genworth);
A solid understanding of the competitive environment in the financial marketplace, and local communities within the region;
Proven social networking skills and an ability to connect with individuals inside and outside the organization;
Ability to analyze and interpret the needs of clients and offer the appropriate options, solutions and resolutions.

What’s the role?

As a Member Service Representative, under direct supervision you will process a variety of financial and non-financial transactions for members within the guidelines established. Coastal Community Credit Union strives “to be the leaders in building relationships that improve financial health, enrich people’s lives and build healthier communities” and it is your responsibility as a Member Service Representative to be the primary point of contact for members and carry the vision statement forward in order to build, maintain, attract and expand the member’s relationship with the credit union.

Your duties will include:

  1. Accurately processes a variety of transactions to meet the needs of our members.
  2. Providing sales and service expertise to inform members of new products/services and changes to existing products/services.
  3. Answering telephone inquiries.
  4. Providing members access into safety deposit boxes.
  5. End of day processing and balancing to be completed in a timely manner as per established procedures.
  6. Performing other related duties as assigned.

What are we looking for?

  • A secondary school diploma with academic emphasis
  • 1 year post-secondary education
  • Up to 1 year of work experience in a sales and service position

Ideally, you are a flexible, collaborative team player with:

  • Keyboarding skills of 40 wpm and computer terminology are required, in addition to proficiency with Windows products such as Outlook, Word, and Excel applications.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to articulate in a clear, concise manner is required to transfer information and understanding to members.
  • Effective listening skills to engage members in conversation to understand and identify their immediate financial needs, and provide resolution through sourcing information, matching an appropriate product/service and/or referring members to the appropriate individual to complete their request.
  • The ability to multitask with keyboarding and internet/computer navigation skills for searching on-line client data and product information while simultaneously conversing with the member is essential to ensure that members receive excellent member service.
  • Interviewing skills and the ability to ask probing questions are required, as well as having the flexibility to adapt to each request and move between a variety of member concerns/questions/requests.
