Summary

As the Industrial Engineering Specialist, you will plan, design, and execute activities that are directly related to production in the Oakville facility.

Job Responsibilities

  • Establish the physical layout of machinery and the most efficient sequence of operations and workflow.
  • Plan the sequence of operations and procedures and document the manufacturing standard work and routings.
  • Plan the allocation of resources, materials, and personnel to establish maximum utilization of equipment.
  • Conducts studies pertaining to cost control, productivity improvement, cost reduction, inventory control and production record systems.
  • Seek out Automation opportunities that will support the business for future growth

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial, Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering and 5 years of related experience or an Advanced Degree and 3 years of related experience. In the absence of a degree a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience in a similar role is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, aerospace industry experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD software system.
  • Strong understanding of Continuous Improvement and Lean Techniques and applications
  • Demonstrated proficiency in all MS office applications.
  • Previous ERP experience necessary (SAP preferred)
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Successful candidate must meet all requirements under ITAR and CCGP

Lead and provide financial guidance to the Operations functions at the Landing Gear site at Oakville, Ontario, as part of the Landing Systems business unit. The successful candidate will work collaboratively across Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain and key business partners to provide insights and analysis to help drive business decisions, execute plans around operational efficiency and capital planning in order to support growth in the business. Liaison through the wider Landing Systems Finance group to implement financial process improvements is an important aspect of the role. The position will be based in Oakville and has 6 direct reports.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and be part of the team performing monthly forecasts, including but not limited to site operational performance, variances to standards, engineering spend and site SG&A.
  • Partner with the site and functional heads for the Oakville business to explain financial results, forecasts and gaps to expected performance metrics.
  • Manage the month-end closing process for all manufacturing, engineering and SG&A related account balances.
  • Oversee and be part of the team to design, document and implement the annual department budget process for Oakville site, and consolidation of department budget data across Landing Systems.
  • Apply continuous improvement methodologies to support the financial aspects of business processes in manufacturing, engineering and supply chain as well as leverage best practices across sites
  • Provide guidance for inventory management and control processes e.g. cycle counts of physical inventory, and review of excess and obsolete inventory.
  • Support Sarbanes-Oxley and other audit compliance activities, reporting, and analysis.
  • Support processes for reporting to corporate of cost per hour, productivity and cost reduction.
  • Coordinate labor floor checks for compliance with time recording procedures.
  • Manage recording and forecasting of allocations as applied from Corporate to Oakville.
  • Support Canada specific accounting requirements e.g. pension.
  • Supervise and provide development feedback to direct reports.
  • Perform ad hoc analysis as required.Leadership:
  • Track record of taking ownership and successfully delivering results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively across broad audiences, including senior-level stakeholders

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing cost accounting environment.
  • Strong administrative, organizational, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to analyze, interpret and present complex financial information such as product costs, variance reporting and analysis.
  • Requires excellent general and cost accounting skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite products
  • Experience being a Supervisor.
  • Must be able to pass to the Canada CGD Clearance.

In this position you will be reporting to the Manager, Manufacturing Engineering. As the Tooling Specialist you will be responsible for managing new and existing tooling in order to support the Machine Shop.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage changes, repairs and improvements to existing tooling.
  • Developing new machining processes and modifying existing machining processes/practices.
  • Setting up jobs for the machine shop.
  • Managing the Continuous Improvement efforts in Tooling.
  • Investigating tooling that is available for machining processes.
  • Developing special design tools and signing off on custom tooling.
  • Dealing with vendors in order to purchase various tools for the machine shop.
  • Ability to 3D Design in one of the following software – Catia V5, Unigraphics, Solid Edge
  • Track and implement cost savings ideas for Tooling and track tooling performance
  • Must be proficient in various CAD/CAM software including Mastercam, Tebis etc.
  • Previous experience using SAP or other related ERP systems.
  • Previous experience in managing relationships with vendors.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of prior relevant experience OR
  • Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience OR
  • In absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required
  • Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
  • Minimum of 8 years cutting tool experience ideally from aerospace or automotive industry.
  • Must be able to read blueprints/drawings.

Reporting to the Payroll Supervisor, Oakville, as the Payroll Analyst, you will be responsible for the administration of bi-weekly payroll for approximately 1000 employees. This position will be a backup to the Payroll Supervisor and will also provide administration support to the Human Resources department. Your time will be split between the Finance and Human Resources department (approximately a 75:25 split respectively).

The Payroll portion is to ensure the bi-weekly pay run is complete and accurate in terms of employee hours, employee profile changes, payment approvals, overtime, shift premium, voluntary and statutory deductions and taxable benefits in accordance with company policies, procedures and legislative requirements.

Primary Responsibilities:

Payroll:

  • Perform computation, processing and documentation of all payroll items for bi-weekly payroll
  • Ensure deductions are in compliance with company policies, federal and provincial laws
  • Manage the timekeeping system (Autotime) in a lead role – Ensure weekly timecards are complete and comply with company policies
  • Produce standard work, communications and training for new hired employees and supervisors, as well as implement improvements as needed
  • Act as liaison between payroll, HR and IT to ensure data entries into payroll system are accurate and take corrective action if required
  • Support requests from CRA, Service Canada, Statistics Canada, EHT, WSIB or other departments
  • Assist department on policies and procedural changes and subsequent communications
  • Resolve and respond to employee Autotime questions and provide employee support
  • Liaise with HR to ensure employee pay related concerns are addressed in a timely manner
  • Participate in labor floor checks and provide support during audits as required
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Human Resources:

  • Assist with the administration of the company reward and recognition program
  • Update and maintain HR distribution lists
  • Other HR duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of prior relevant experience OR
  • In absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience is required
  • Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Bachelor’s degree (typically in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations
  • At least 2 years of previous experience administrating payroll
  • Intermediate level MS Office skills

  • Aerospace experience
