Reporting to the Assistant Dean, Advancement, the Development Officer Officer has responsibility for the execution of a comprehensive fundraising program for the Faculty of Management at Dalhousie University.

Key Responsibilities
Implement fund development strategies and initiatives consistent with the University’s objectives.
Work with senior leadership of Office of Advancement, Dean(s) and other University leaders to identify fundraising priorities and set an achievable annual fundraising goal for the Faculty.
Maintain a portfolio of active donors and manage prospects/donors with major gift capacity, with an emphasis on timely and accurate moves management practices, in order to create and maximize revenue through major gift commitments for Dalhousie’s Faculty of Management
Coach and collaborate with the Dean, other leaders within the Faculty, and other Faculty members, regarding fundraising strategies to support the execution of fundraising calls and solicitations.
Present and promote a consistent image of Dalhousie as a major university of international caliber at the service of the community.
Assume other fundraising-related management responsibilities and ensure appropriate administration of the process.

Qualifications
Undergraduate degree, with three to five years’ experience in major gift fundraising, client relations, professional sales, business development or a related field, ideally, but not necessarily, in a post-secondary environment. Exceptional written, oral and interpersonal communication skills are essential. Business acumen, maturity and diplomacy in dealing with donors, and senior level faculty and administrative personnel required. Demonstrated sales or business development, leadership and strategic planning skills are required. The preferred candidate must thrive on working in a fast-paced and results-oriented environment.

About the opportunity
The School of Communication Sciences and Disorders, Faculty of Health at Dalhousie University invites applications for a .5-FTE probationary instructor. The anticipated start date is September 1, 2022.

Applicants are required to hold a master’s degree in Audiology and be eligible registration in the Nova Scotia College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists (NSCASLP). Clinical experience with the selection and prescription of hearing aids, cerumen management, verification and validation procedures, and audiologic rehabilitation is required. Preference will be given to applicants with experience teaching in an audiology curriculum in a university setting and a PhD/AuD is considered an asset. The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal, organizational, and teamwork skills. Candidates should also have an interest in interprofessional education.

The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching academic courses within the audiology curriculum as well as clinical supervision of students. The successful candidate will also be responsible managing an in-house audiology clinic.

Job Summary

The Faculty of Agriculture, Dalhousie University is a small research-intensive campus located in Truro, NS. Offering technical, undergraduate and graduate programs in agriculture, environment and related life and social science disciplines, the Faculty of Agriculture educates future leaders and generates knowledge and innovative solutions for healthy, sustainable societies. Reporting to the Operations Manager, with additional direction from the Programs and Finance Manager, the Agricultural Technician-CCFAR will be responsible for the on-going care of animals housed in the Canadian Centre for Fur Animal Research (CCFAR), Agricultural Campus (AC) Farm, in support of the Faculty’s teaching and research objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Provide daily care of the mink herd including but not limited to animal handling and restraint, feeding, bedding, breeding, vaccinations, monitoring health and administering treatments, sampling, and occasional feed preparation.
Ensure appropriate animal care, housing and enrichment standards are met, for example regular cleaning, bedding, and repair of animal housing.
Operation, maintenance and minor repairs of equipment such as feed, harvest and bedding carts; forklift; manure system; and pressure washer. General maintenance, cleaning and housekeeping of the facilities.
Provide technical assistance and support to students, faculty and staff, including labs, tours, and research projects.
Collect, record and maintain data in support of academic and research programs pertaining to mink production and management. Maintain records such as animal health, pedigree, inventory and production.
Adhere to all relevant Faculty and University policies and procedures such as occupational health and safety, animal care and biosecurity.

Note

Selected candidate must be able to work weekends and holidays as part of a rotating schedule, Monday through Sunday, and available to work overtime as required. Scheduling and compensation will be in accordance with the collective agreement.

The successful candidate is expected to be available to work on campus, and will be required to provide proof of vaccination and twice-weekly COVID tests in accordance with University policies due to the susceptibility of the mink herd under the Technician’s care to COVID-19.

Due to operational requirements, the successful applicant is required to work on-campus.

Qualifications

Diploma in Agriculture, Animal Science or a related field from a recognized agricultural or related institution with approximately two to three years’ relevant experience (or equivalent combination of training and experience) is required. Experience in production, management, husbandry and housing of mink would be considered an asset. Must have the ability to operate equipment and machinery specific to CCFAR operations e.g. feed cart, manure system, pressure washer, lab equipment. Valid Class 5 NS driver’s license is required. Upon hiring, the selected candidate will be required to obtain, within 3 months of employment, forklift certification, First Aid and WHMIS. Must be proficient in use of Microsoft 365 and smart phone applications and technology. Must have strong initiative and judgement, organizational, time management and problem solving skills and the ability to work independently and in a team environment. Must have proven interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills. This position has above average physical demands including animal (mink) handling and restraint, lifting up to 25 kg, continuous walking on cement floor. The incumbent will be regularly exposed to organic and biological materials, dust, noise and extreme temperatures.

A part-time instructor is needed to teach French 1007.03 (06) for the fall term of the 2021-2022 academic year (September – December 2021, scheduled to be taught on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 11:35-12:55).

The selected applicant will teach the basic components of French grammar (listening, speaking, reading, and writing) to students with no previous background in French or who have studied French up to grade 8-9. As instructor, the candidate will be responsible for all aspects of teaching and administering the class, including lectures, test preparation, evaluation and electronic submission of grades. Instructors are expected to maintain reliable and constant communication with the administration of the Department, to be available for two hours per week for consultation with students, and to have students fill out the evaluation questionnaire at the end of the course. Instructors report to the Chairperson of the Department.
Qualifications/Requirements of Position
At least a Master’s degree in French, plus previous teaching experience. Native or near-native competence in French. There is a requirement for an interview for all candidates who have not previously been interviewed for a position at the 1000 or 1005 levels, who have never held a full time position in the department or who are not retired faculty. Any candidate has a right to be re-interviewed for each new hiring cycle but must specifically request this. Job Summary & Key Responsibilities
The Boudreau laboratory at Dalhousie University is seeking an exceptional post-doctoral fellow to lead a cross-disciplinary, translational research project in pancreatic adenocarcinoma. This work aligns expertise in human natural killer cells, humanized mouse models, immunogenetics, cancer genetics and tumor-immune cell interactions. We are highly collaborative and collegial group. Applicants must be highly motivated and collaborative, with solid experience in the majority of the following, with a willingness and desire to learn the rest: cancer bioinformatics, immunology, immunohistochemistry, flow cytometry and humanized mice. Candidates should be able to independently design and assess their experiments and research program, but will have assistance from the PI, research technician and other laboratory members.
Qualifications/Requirements of Position
Applicants must have a PhD with 0-2 years’ experience as a post-doctoral fellow, and a strong track record of publication in peer-reviewed journals and presentations to scientific audiences.
Salary Range/Pay Rate $40,000-$50,000 per annum

Job Summary
The Dalhousie School of Social Work Community Clinic is an inter-professional social justice oriented service located on Quinpool Road in Halifax. It is both a case management platform for marginalized populations and a student practice learning environment for the faculty of Health and beyond. Reporting to the Clinic Co-Directors, the Clinic Coordinator is responsible for day-to-day operations of the Clinic. They provide holistic and comprehensive case management services to all clients that could include intake assessment, goal setting, case plan development, case conferencing, brokering, system navigation, outreach, advocacy, crisis intervention, supportive counselling and referrals to outside agencies. The Clinic Coordinator also supports student field placement activities, educational and community outreach projects and fundraising.

Key Responsibilities
Connect individual clients and families with community services and follow-up on the progress. Provide community-based services using a harm-reduction and low-barriers approach to social work practice.
Ensure proper development, processing, and filing of all necessary documentation of their caseload.
Participate in community development projects through the clinic such as: community linkages, professional presentations, program development, budgeting, and grant/ fund seeking.
As the Clinic also acts as a student learning opportunity for social work students as well as other health profession students, the Clinic Coordinator will participate in the supervision and evaluation of student placements. The role also involves coordination and scheduling of collaborative case studies among the various student groups and preceptors.

Note

Qualifications
Master of Social Work Degree from an accredited School of Social Work and Registered Social Worker (RSW) licensure from Nova Scotia College of Social Work (NSCSW). Knowledge of the organizational structures, policies and procedures of the Social Services and health delivery systems and community organizations in Canada. Ability to work with people delivering human services at all organizational levels from direct service to senior administration in government, non-government and community based organizations, which reflect the diversity of Canadian society. Understanding of the broad spectrum of social work practice from individual and community practice, policy, social action and research. Experience in Microsoft Office Suite applications.
