Title: Engagement Data Specialist

Terms: Full-time 1-year term (34 hours/ 4-day week)

Reporting to: Digital Engagement Manager (Vancouver)

Location: Based near our Vancouver, Toronto or Montreal Offices, with remote work during the pandemic

We are a group of talented, bright and passionate people working to make a difference in the world. We are looking for a collaborative and solutions-oriented Engagement Data Specialist who will play a critical role in supporting engagement across all of our work.

The Engagement Data Specialist will support the collection, storage, reporting and analysis of engagement data. You will report to the Digital Engagement Manager and work collaboratively across the organization.

You are passionate about engagement and understand that accurate and relevant data is the backbone of the social justice and environmental movements. You have strong interest and experience in online advocacy.

Your Responsibilities

The key responsibilities of this role are:

  • Support the implementation of engagement data strategy and integration strategy
  • Ensure all available engagement data is represented in Salesforce
  • Maintain accuracy of engagement data
  • Optimize imports, integrations and logic across all sources of engagement data
  • Document integrations and import logic
  • Identify areas to improve integrations and import processes and logic
  • Support testing of integration tools
  • Maintain Step Up! engagement tracking app within Salesforce
  • Design relevant reports and dashboards
  • Regular data analysis
  • Other duties as required

Qualifications

Your Qualifications

Skills, Experience and Training Required:

  • Certified Salesforce Administrator
  • Certified Force.com Developer experience a bonus
  • Experienced with complex system integrations
  • Expert with DemandTools or comparable
  • Experience with VisualForce, Salesforce APIs, Apex, classes, triggers, workflow rules, DLRS
  • Expert at reporting in Salesforce.com
  • Workato experience a bonus
  • Excellent data manipulation and deduplication skills
  • Strong data analysis skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong documentation skills

Responsibilities

Administrative & Departmental Coordination:

  • Provide all core administrative support to the Director, Sustainable Communities and the team. There is some overlap with our Climate Solutions team in the scope of this role.
  • Maintain general team coordination for necessary deadlines and track action items for success.
  • Work with our director and the team to coordinate events such as webinars, media conferences and more.
  • Assist team with budget tracking, maintenance and record-keeping throughout the year. You like your filing systems for easy reporting needs.
  • Book department meetings and maintain the calendar, key program and project deadlines. You know what’s happening and when.
  • Work with the Director and Project Leads to code all invoices and team expenses to the right funders, update budgets and ensure that program expenses are coded and submitted on a time. You keep us on time, on track, on budget.
  • Create and track key documents, departmental functions and contracts.
  • Take great notes for internal and external meetings with stakeholders.
  • Coordinate and track monthly progress reports.
  • Be an integral part of next steps project management tools as we rollout Smartsheet led by our digital team.

Qualifications

What You Bring to the Role – Skills, Experience & Knowledge

  • 2+ years of department coordination and/or administration experience and project management ability.
  • Share DSF’s commitment to finding solutions to Canada’s most pressing environmental challenges and our organizational values (solution-seeking, courageous, collaborative, integrity-driven and committed).
  • Excellent organizational and documentation skills generally acquired through the completion of a bachelor degree program or equivalent administrative experience.
  • Ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly with excellent attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems, propose solutions and find opportunities to improve systems and processes.
  • Self-starter, driven by your own initiative to prioritize competing demands and meet timelines within a changing, ambiguous environment.
  • Highly resourceful team player who’s able to work independently as well as with team members across different cities and provinces.
  • Great budget management skills and financial acumen beneficial.
  • Interest and experience in supporting the successful rollout of project management tools; Smartsheet experience would be a bonus.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook, experience with Microsoft Teams a bonus.
  • Excellent English language skills are critical; French language skills are an asset.
