Name of the Vacant Position – Asset Performance Engineer
As the Asset Performance Engineer in Training, your role is to develop, maintain and improve ENMAX Power’s Transmission and Distribution Asset Management practice and to manage execution of the maintenance program of transmission and distribution equipment. You are expected to manage operational concerns to ensure equipment availability and drive maintenance program improvements through program evaluations, failure analysis, program performance management, budget adherence, asset analytics and software improvements. This position will also require a focus on providing support for Standards and Equipment team.
Major Responsibilities:
Manage execution of the maintenance program of transmission and distribution equipment
Improve equipment reliability through the development and advancement of maintenance testing procedures and methodologies for Transmission and Distribution equipment
Analyze and review the inspection and maintenance data of Transmission and Distribution equipment
Work with manufacturers and internal stakeholders to address equipment issues
Development maintenance programs to comply with ARS Standards
Develop operational and capital justifications to improve equipment reliability
Management maintenance programs by developing strategies for program optimization and work prioritization
Work closely with other internal stakeholders regarding the implementation of maintenance practices and strategy objectives
Evaluate effectiveness of maintenance programs
Perform failure and root cause analysis for power system equipment
Develop dashboard to improve the quality of asset data and analytics to improve maintenance program management
Drive CMMS and reporting changes to improve quality of data, improve maintenance processes and develop asset analytics
Continually seek to improve program performance and existing work processes to be more efficient, effective and safer
Coordinate, support and undertake in the preparation of annual asset replacement capital plans
Education Required:
BSc. Science Degree in Engineering in Mechanical, Electrical or Civil
Registered as an Engineer in Training with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geo-scientists of Alberta (APEGA)
Qualifications & Experience:
Previous experience with Project Management
Previous experience and understanding of Financials and budgeting
Understanding of industry standards (CSA, IEEE, IEC etc.) pertaining to the design and testing of equipment and materials
Competencies:
Strong communication skills
Ability to develop and strengthen relationships with field staff
Ability to adapt to fast paced environment
Ability to identify issues, gather relevant information from various sources and stakeholders, and take prudent action
Business acumen is preferred to be able to understand the financial impact of technical decisions.
