As ENMAX’s Accounts Payable Administrator, you will be responsible for transactional processing of all ENMAX invoices. You’ll also be responsible to ensure accurate and appropriate processing of supplier invoices and the timely payment of amounts owed to suppliers.

Major Responsibilities:

Data entry and manage the processing, analyzing, checking, verifying invoices, expense records, supporting documents in a timely and accurate manner.

Liaise with external and internal stakeholders, investigate complaints, concerns and queries raised to determine accuracy of information, basis of complaint and determine appropriate action to be taken.

Ensure the timely and accurate processing of all payments, including cheque processing and issue handling.

Complete administrative tasks required for all employee expense claims and credit card applications.

Maintain records for audit purposes by ensuring appropriate data storage.

Demonstrate a competent understanding of policies and processes relative to the accounting area.

Communicate policies and procedures with internal and external stakeholders in a constructive and professional manner.

Source data reconciliation and validation.

Prepare, analyze, reconcile and verify regular reoccurring and ad hoc reports.

Serve as a resource to others for problem solving, training and coaching as well as identify and assist in implementation of modifications to current systems.

Education Required:

High school diploma or G.E.D.

Enrolment in a recognized accounting designation program would be considered an asset.

Qualifications:

4+ years of related work experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Experience with processing of invoices and answering vendor inquiries is required.

Ability to accurately and efficiently process a minimum of 50 vouchers per day.

Proficient in MS Office products with advanced abilities in MS Excel (IE Pivot Tables).

Experience with Workday Financials and Maximo is considered an asset.

Experience in Accounts Payable will be considered an asset.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Manage multiple complex residential shallow utility projects and ensure maximum productivity is obtained and that projects are completed in a profitable and efficient manner. The Project Manager has overall accountability to ensure that projects are profitable, this includes reviewing estimates and quotations, controlling project costs to ensure that designed margins are obtained, and ensuring that all receivables are collected.

We’re looking for a Renewables Development Manager with strong project origination and management experience, a passion for renewable energy and a desire to be part of a fast-paced Business Development team. This exciting new role will be responsible for leading the development of new utility scale renewable electricity project opportunities in solar, wind and energy storage from the early development stage through to the construction stage, assessing and conducting due diligence of project acquisition opportunities, and leading or supporting project business model development.

The Development Manager shall help identify new project sites, obtain site control, obtain permits and interconnection access, secure community support for the project, and prepare the site for financing and construction. The Development Manager will lead cross functional project teams and with support for economic analysis, commercial development, development engineering, and regulatory/permitting.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Lead and/or support the development of individual greenfield projects or project acquisitions from origination through to internal approval and financial close working closely with internal and external project partners, customers, landowners, community stakeholders, Distribution and/or Transmission Facility Operators and various government agencies. Conduct project site feasibility analysis and project acquisition due diligence applying fundamental site criteria to select prospective project sites.
  • Plan and manage land acquisition strategies, including leading landowner negotiations, managing external land acquisition contractors and coordinating with Legal Counsel.
  • Represent ENMAX in community settings and in front of large landowner groups across Alberta on new renewable energy projects. Work with stakeholders to understand concerns raised and create mitigation strategies to resolve concerns. Lead project permitting activities including Alberta Utilities Commission facility applications. Manage and conduct project site environmental due diligence.
  • Strategically plan required project tasks considering commercial factors impacting projects, prepare and maintain project schedules, budget, risk assessments and manage stage gate approvals.
  • Support or lead the origination and negotiation of bilateral customer offtakes for individual renewable projects and preparation of bid submissions to renewable procurement processes.
  • Contribute to the development of ENMAX’s utility scale renewables growth strategy.

Education Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, Law, Environmental Science or closely related field. MBA and/or PMP designation would be an asset.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • A minimum of 10 years post-degree experience in the energy industry.
  • Electricity experience strongly preferred in the area of new power project development, business development or commercial management.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated experience in developing grid scale renewable energy projects, including experience related to project management, land acquisition, interconnection processes, permitting, commercial/financial project economic modelling, responding to competitive procurement processes and negotiating offtake agreements.
  • Proven track record of building relationships with customers, project partners, stakeholders including landowners, municipalities and municipal districts, indigenous communities, government agencies, and/or other stakeholders.
  • Experience in managing Alberta Utilities Commission and environmental permitting requirements, municipal level development permit approval processes and obtaining community license for new electricity projects.
  • Proficient working knowledge of MS Office Suite including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project, Google Earth and ArcGIS.
  • Knowledge of project financial modelling and risk assessment considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of renewable energy agreements including confidentiality agreements, land agreements, equipment procurement and construction agreements and power purchase agreements considered an asset.
  • Valid class 5 license (no more than 6 demerits). 15-25% of your time will be spent at project sites or offsite meetings.

  • Ensure the consistent delivery of integrated project costs and schedules for engineering/design, procurement, construction, and commissioning/closeout

  • Take proactive steps to monitor, control and report on progress metrics in comparison with the baseline budget and schedule and report on any deviation

  • Prepare recommendations for remedial action where deviations occur, include trends in the forecast, or develop a mitigation program or corrective measures.

  • Cost control & reporting for assigned suite of projects including consolidated project cost incurred, forecast, contingency draw down, change log, cash flow curves, cost and schedule variance, and overall project stewardship.

  • Liaise with project teams to ensure the correct utilization of the project control systems based on project specific requirements and Project Management guidelines

  • Manage internal Change Management reporting of all project exposures pending, approved and rejected;

  • Seek Project Manager’s approval for changes to baseline estimates and new forecasted dates/performance;

  • Interface with project team to develop project forecasts and analyze project schedule and costs for Earned Value (EV)

  • Participate in cost and schedule risk assessment

  • Prepare and analyze cost reports to ensure original commitments, cost to date and cost to complete and any variances are accurately reported on a timely basis

  • Implement financial controls including controlling authorizations of expenditure and cash flow projections

  • Track and coordinate project progress from a cost and schedule perspective

  • Perform thorough QA/QC on all deliverables

  • Responsible for participating in RFP and bid review process by providing input in the schedule and cost development

  • Support development, implementation, maintenance and continuous improvement of standards, processes, and procedures

Education Required: 

  • University degree in Engineering or related discipline such as Business, Construction Management

  • AACE and PMI member – Certified Cost Engineer and Project Management Professional (PMP) designation is preferred

Experience

  • 10+ years’ senior project controls experience (Planning & Scheduling, Cost Control, Estimating)

  • Proficiency in Primavera and Excel

  • Certified – Primavera P6

  • Full understanding of project life cycle, EPC, EPCC, EPCM across broad range of projects

  • Advanced knowledge of Project Controls principals, practices and procedures

  • Experience with Project Controls Systems for integration of cost and schedule with software programs such as MAXIMO, MAXAVERA, Primavera (P6) or other cost and scheduling tools

  • Strong computer skills including MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, Project), data base programming an asset

  • Project Management, and cost engineering best practices training

  • Data Analysis experience

The capital programs are to rejuvenate or replace Distribution assets to ensure the safe and reliable delivery of electrical services.  Ideas for new programs and scopes may come from various information sources such as hazards, operation issues and asset health reports. The position will use this information or other information to determine an asset issue or opportunity and generate program scope and justification. The Asset Engineer is responsible for stewarding their owns programs from beginning to end and must balance technical and business needs in the decisions they make.

Major Responsibilities: 

  • Analyze Distribution asset performance to identify issues and opportunities that may impact the safe and reliable delivery of electrical service.

  • Assets include but not limited to medium voltage cable and wire, transformers, switches, and poles.

  • Develop business cases for Asset programs. Defend business cases to both internal stakeholders and external stakeholders such as the AUC.

  • Develop short term (1 year) and long term (3-10 year) asset replacement scopes.

  • Steward capital programs by working collaboratively with multiple stakeholders to execute programs according planned scope, cost, and schedule.

  • Accountable for financial, scheduling, and scope variance reporting on capital programs.

  • Communicate Distribution Asset Management activities to stakeholders.

  • Track and resolve hazards in the system.

  • Provide justifications for unplanned infrastructure replacements/modifications.

  • Create justifications for changes to equipment specifications, maintenance practices, commissioning requirements, design guidelines, and/or construction standards.

  • Support development and continuous improvement of Asset Management Plans (AMPs).

  • Support development and continuous improvement of processes, standards, procedures, guidelines, and other business documentation required to optimize the execution and governance of asset capital programs and projects.

  • Review existing processes and work with other groups to implement business improvements in the execution and/or governance of capital programs and projects.

  • Support leaders by undertaking other duties as necessary to advance business objectives.

Education Required: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Engineering

  • Registered as a Professional with The Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA)

Experience: 

  • 5+ years of relevant experience.

  • Fundamental understanding of both radial and secondary grid distribution systems.
