Job Description

We are looking for a Site Manager, who is an outstanding team leader with a positive and professional attitude to join our team to undertake projects locally and nationwide. You will have demonstrable experience in adhering to site health, safety, environmental and wellbeing standards. We are looking for individuals to be based within commuting distance of our new head office in the Andover area, however as we work nationally, there will be an expectation to travel and stay away from home regularly so a level of flexibility is required.

We are looking for someone who has experience in working outdoors in environmentally sensitive areas, those with experience in working on large infrastructure projects UK wide will be looked on favourably. You will receive ongoing training and development in all aspects of the operational tasks and have a great opportunity for continued progression.

The Role

To ensure the delivery of projects for the Habitats team and that they are delivered in a safe and efficient manner in line with budgets and timescales. May manage several sites at one time. Lead, motivate, communicate with staff to ensure team members are motivated to achieve their best performance to meet the needs of the company.

Measurables for the role:

  • Successful project completion delivered against profit & loss targets, and cash flow targets
  • Projects delivered in line with works program and against commercial and financial forecast
  • Project delivered to an acceptable quality measured through Project Manager and client feedback.
  • Effective communication with project management team, stakeholders and clients.
  • Maintains Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental compliance for their sites measured through RAMS sign off, HSQE inspections and site spot checks.
  • Relevant HSQE reporting
  • Ensures that people under their line management are managed correctly through regular 1:1s and performance reviews.
  • Management of onsite risks, resource scheduling and scope change reduction and variation control

Personal and Professional Qualities:

  • 2 years’ experience in managing teams in similar role or field
  • Experience of operating within and managing site teams
  • Experience in managing of Health, Safety, Quality and Wellbeing
  • People and line management
  • To be able to perform tasks as directed and meet deadlines
  • Awareness of environmental issues
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong organisational skills and report writing

Qualifications

Minimum 

  • CSCS Black Card (NVQ Level 6)
  • SMSTS
  • First Aid
  • Valid driving license

Desirable

  • HNC/HND in construction project management, civil engineering, construction engineering
  • NEBOSH or IOSH
  • Member of an environmental institution – CIEEM / CIWEM

Environmental Consultant

The role you are applying for as Environmental Consultant will be joining a team of hardworking, motivated and passionate people to deliver major environmental projects across a variety of habitats in the UK.

You will be a part of our Design & Consultancy team delivering a variety of environmental enhancement projects including, river restoration, fish passage, ecological mitigation and wetland creation works from concept through to implementation.

The role

Following continued demand for our services, that includes contracts on multiple frameworks delivering AMP7 design and consultancy for water companies, we are looking for someone who has specialist industry experience (Geomorphology, Engineering, River Restoration, Ecological Mitigation or Eco Hydraulic Engineering) delivering design and consultancy works on river restoration, fish passage, ecological mitigation and wetland creation sites to join the team.

As a FiveRivers Environmental Consultant you will be responsible for using your technical ability, and industry standards, to create technical designs and reporting for environmental design schemes across the UK.

Sustainability and buildability are at the heart of everything we deliver. You will need to work closely with our environmental consultants, geomorphologists and engineers, as well as colleagues in our Habitats and Monitoring business areas, to build this into every scheme you design.

Every project we work on is different and you will have the opportunity to be responsible for your own programme of works, tendering and bidding for a variety of works for existing and new clients.

Person specification

  • You will have experience of designing complex environmental design or delivery schemes
  • A specialism in any of the following areas Geomorphology, River Restoration, Ecological Mitigation, Engineering or Eco Hydraulic Engineering
  • You will have proven communication and written skills writing technical reports
  • You will have excellent IT skills
  • You will be a proficient user of AutoCAD and ArcGIS
  • You should be able to adapt and respond to changing situations. Have the ability to learn quickly and have a high level of self-motivation and drive, and be capable of motivating others

Requirements

  • Role holder will have relevant professional membership and working towards chartership
  • Role holder will have a minimum of 3-5 years’ industry experience in a technical role within an environmental consultancy/ statutory body
  • Role holder will hold a degree in Geomorphology, Geography, Engineering or Eco Hydraulic Engineering
  • Role holder will have knowledge of construction design management regulations (CDM) carrying out relevant roles
  • Drivers license and ability to travel as required UK wide
