Job Description

Personal Trainers are responsible for developing a roster of clients, and working with their clients to achieve overall health and fitness goals.

What will you be doing?

Seeking out new clients
Working with clients to understand health history and future goals in order to develop tailored, effective programming
Leveraging and promoting all GoodLife training programs to support clients on their health and fitness journeys
Responsible for the administrative side of servicing clients (e.g., use of GoodLife tools and software)

Must be willing to accrue a nationally recognized Personal Training certification within first 75 days of employment

Who is a Club Attendant?

The Club Attendant is responsible for providing a clean, safe and friendly in-Club experience for all Members.

What will you be doing?

Club Readiness: Ensure the Club is clean, tidy and Member ready at all times through performing the following duties:

Thoroughly clean all equipment; immediately report any maintenance needs.
Wash, dry and fold towels to keep up with Member demand.
Ensure that all consumable supplies are stocked at all times, e.g., paper towels, shampoo/ conditioner etc.
Empty all garbage cans in the Club.
Ensure changerooms are maintained, cleaned and ready for Member use
Maintain surfaces based on seasonal needs
Unload supplies and stock shelves as required.
Complete regular Pool/Whirlpool checks (where applicable/as required).
Maintain tanning room and bed cleanliness; immediately report maintenance needs.
Perform other cleaning duties as required
Member Experience: In addition to the duties listed above, the Club Attendant is responsible to enhance the Member Experience through positive interactions while on the workout floor

Acknowledge and greet Members while carrying out duties
Be Pleasant and Present with every interaction
Assist members with questions by directing them to the appropriate person as necessary
Complete any required Learning and attend meetings as required.

Who is an Event Experience Coordinator?

The Event Experience Coordinator’s role contributes to the overall success of canfitpro events across Canada. The Event Experience Coordinator is responsible for a high level of service and communication with vendors, delegates, presenters, and other departments. This position leads registration for all canfitpro live and online events, as well as manages webinars, surveys and CRM Dynamics.

What will you be doing?

  • Work closely with Event Experience Manager and other key stakeholders prior to events to capture the vision and direction
  • Research needs and goals of delegates at our events
  • Communicate with presenters, sponsors, vendors, exhibitors and other teams as needed
  • Manage registration for live and online events; including planning, vendor management and reporting
  • Manage changes and ensure appropriate communication of changes
  • Communicate with contractors on timelines, information needed and creation of online registration forms
  • Send all relevant content/information needed for online registration to contractors
  • Post event surveys completed and distributes as well as reviewed and shared with all relevant stakeholders
  • Collaborate on webinar planning and production; hosting and moderating webinars
  • Organize final payments and tracking all payments for budget purposes

Who You Are?

  • Minimum of post-secondary education with a focus on Event Planning or Project Management
  • 2-3 years’ experience in an event planning role or in the event planning industry
  • Experience and interest in the fitness industry is an asset
  • Experience planning trade shows is an asset
  • Highly organized and documenting processes allowing for replication and evaluate for constant improvement
  • Ability to multi task, build relationships, and adapt to changing situations
  • Exemplary leadership, written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable leading webinars on-camera
  • Excellent interpersonal, time management, planning and organizational skills, being able to meet deadlines
  • Ability to prioritize and balance competing responsibilities
  • Sound judgment, problem solving, and decision-making skills
  • Knowledge of the fitness industry
  • Sounds computer skills to include Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point

  • Become familiar with all aspects of GoodLife’s business. Research and write effective media materials, speeches, presentations and blog content in relevant voice and to accomplish communications objectives.
  • Work with marketing and social media to maximize and align content opportunities
  • Identify and pitch positive media opportunities, including writing and pitching associate/member success stories, timely lifestyle story pitches, program launches, club openings, media events, and corporate social responsibility initiatives.
  • Get to know media outlets and journalists. Identify, cultivate and maintain relationships with key media and external influencers/key stakeholders.
  • Manage media lists and earned media editorial calendar and integrate with content and social calendars.
  • Coordinate photography and videography requests.
  • Write and coordinate materials for the GoodLife Media Centre including written, photography and video content.
  • Respond to media and stakeholder inquiries about GoodLife Fitness.
  • Support issues and risk management.
  • Provide internal and external communications for COVID-19 reopening and pandemic-related business activities. This includes reviewing and drafting Member and Associate messages, developing FAQs and website copy, ensuring consistency of communication across departments and channels.

Do you have what it takes?

  • Bachelor’s Degree, Post-Graduate Degree or Diploma in Public Relations/Communications, Journalism
  • Related courses and certifications are an asset (e.g. marketing, business, content development)
  • Strong writing skills – some experience drafting news and feature stories, media materials, blog posts, speeches, presentations and more.
  • Knowledge of Canadian media industry trends and issues
  • Interest and knowledge of earned media and media relations practices and tools
  • Superior communication skills (oral, written and presentation), includes the ability to represent the company comfortably in public and make proactive pitch calls to media and secure interview opportunities.
  • Creative thinker, experience with promoting products or services to consumer audiences.
  • Excellent time management, planning, decision-making and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and juggle timelines.
