Job Description

electrician  detects electrical defects and performs general installation, repair, replacement and maintenance work on mechanical systems and electrical installations (wires, cables, conduits, accessories, devices and electrical appliances) of HEC Montréal buildings, as requested.

More specifically, the person holding this position:

  • Reads and interprets electrical plans and specifications and updates existing plans; makes diagrams, drawings and sketches relating to the modifications to be made to the electrical distribution and to the controls (programmable logic controllers).
  • Installs, checks, maintains, replaces or repairs wire and wiring raceways, distribution, power, command control, security, intercom, etc.
  • Installs, checks, maintains and repairs various systems and equipment for lighting, heating, driving forces, control (programmable logic controllers), measurement, alarm, fire detection, ventilation, etc. Maintains, cleans and replaces printed circuit boards.
  • Installs, checks, replaces, repairs and puts into operation various devices such as motors, accumulators, transformers, distribution panels, etc.
  • Installs, checks, replaces, repairs and maintains circuit breakers, disconnectors, starters, lighting fixtures, etc.; replaces sockets, switches, etc. Occasionally transfers load from 12,000 volt and 25,000 volt switches.
  • Verifies the operating conditions of devices and systems, takes readings of voltage, current, speed, temperature, etc. and make the necessary adjustments.
  • Pierces or has pierced objects or surfaces (walls, floors, etc.) in order to carry out the work.
  • Gives his opinion to his immediate superior as to the quality of the work carried out by contractors.
  • Produces the required reports on the nature of the work carried out, the condition of the equipment and the needs in terms of tools and equipment. Keeps the inventory of materials and tools necessary for the execution of the work up to date.
  • In accordance with service calls, submits to his superior the list and quantity of materials required for the execution of certain work for cost estimate purposes.
  • Handles, transports, and uses the appropriate machinery, tools and materials and ensures the safe use of the materials and products used. Ensures the preventive maintenance of the tools and equipment used and maintains the cleanliness and safety of the premises.
  • Submits to his superior any file requiring special attention.
  • Performs any other task at the request of his superior or required by his duties.

Job Description

The Department of Management at HEC Montréal is looking for a Professor of Organizational Behavior (assistant, associate or tenured). The successful candidate will notably be called upon to teach the Organizational Behavior course in the BBA program and to do research in the fields of industrial and organizational psychology or organizational behavior. In terms of research, the successful candidate will be involved in the development of the Global Experience Panel, a research infrastructure for conducting applied research by survey in the field of organizational behavior with public and private organizations. The start date is June 1, 2022.

Requirements:

  • Ph.D. in industrial and organizational psychology, organizational behavior, or a related field.
  • Be passionate about teaching and interacting with students in different programs (BAA, MBA, M.Sc., Ph.D., leadership training). Teaching experience is required (attach evaluations).
  • Have a quality research record and a high potential for research in the field of industrial and organizational psychology or organizational behavior.
  • Master French or demonstrate a desire to learn it. HEC Montréal’s integration program provides excellent support for this. Candidates must be able to teach in French no later than two years after taking up their duties. Fluency in English is required. Fluency in Spanish is an asset.
