What you will do: 

Under the general direction of the Manager, Immigrant Programs & Services, the incumbent is accountable for the program coordination, delivery and administration of the Occupation-Specific Language Training (OSLT) project. Primary responsibilities include marketing, outreach, recruitment and student admissions, compiling reports for funders, budget monitoring, and oversight of the OSLT faculty. Specific duties include conducting information sessions for prospective OSLT students, determining their eligibility, and completing the admissions process (as per guidelines); working closely with COWD marketing staff to develop compelling advertising and social media content for reaching out to prospective students; purchasing supplies, books and Presto cards, required to support the students in the program. in conjunction with the faculty; regularly monitoring the budget to ensure that it is on track and accurate; in conjunction with finance staff, ensuring that financial claims are compiled and submitted to funder according to budget and contract timelines; preparing the narrative project activity report periodically; providing direction to faculty/staff when changes are made to the curriculum by Colleges Ontario; representing Humber College at the Colleges Ontario meetings and assisting with the ongoing development of the program with other college partners; organizing OSLT graduations and events with guest speakers to provide relevant information to support course content and student objectives such as hosting Humber staff or alumni from Humber’s Community Employment Services, Mentoring and Bridging Programs

What you will do:

Associate Director IGS Student Experience

Role Profile 

Located in downtown Toronto at Humber’s International Graduate School the Associate Director, IGS Student Experience reports to the Principal, IGS, and works closely with Student Success and Engagement (SSE) and the International Centre, providing leadership and oversight of student success and support initiatives at the IGS. Through a lens of equity, diversity and inclusion and aligned with the IGS vision and mission, the AD is responsible for the development, implementation and day-to-day oversight of the services supporting the international graduate learner at the IGS. The AD IGS Student Experience ensures policy alignment with Humber functional leads while developing and maintaining procedures specific to the IGS ensuring a positive, professional and supportive environment in order to ensure that each student has the opportunity to succeed.

 

Minimum Qualifications 

The successful candidate will have a Master’s Degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs with a focus on International Student Support and Development or related field, IRCC designation will be considered an asset, along with a minimum of 5 years of academic administration experience and the demonstrated ability to function effectively in a collective bargaining environment of distributed leadership from a college-wide perspective. Extensive knowledge and experience working with international students and creating programs to meet the needs of learners and graduates that meet labour market demands is required, as is an understanding and leadership in international student services, student support and transitioning programing and immigration pathways and regulations.

Additional experience includes: HR functions including hiring, evaluating and exempt and unionized staff; needs assessment analysis, creative problem-solving, strategic planning, team development and the ability to secure cooperation of others; and competencies in business acumen, planning, organizing, coordination, problem-solving, negotiating, judgment, listening, understanding, and partnership building with stakeholders inside and outside the organization.

Additional qualifications include: strong knowledge of GAAP, receipts, payments, and general accounting functions; experience with Oracle or other ERP systems; intermediate knowledge of Excel, and Word, Outlook. The incumbent will possess strong verbal and written communication skills, strong problem solving and analytical skills, must be detail oriented with proven organizational skills, must have the ability to meet conflicting deadlines and cope with changing processes and priorities .
