Our cardiology program provides specialty services for patients with acute and chronic conditions of the cardiovascular system. The Inpatient Cardiology Units are located on the 7th floor of our new site. As part of an interdisciplinary team, Registered Nurses provide quality care to those patients with various heart conditions and other general medicine medical diagnosis that may or may not require telemetry monitoring.

Reporting Relationship: Clinical Manager of the Inpatient Cardiology Unit

Hourly Rate Range: $34.24 -$49.02

Schedule Requirements: Must be able to work rotating shifts days, nights, evenings, weekends an holidays

Position Responsibilities:

Care of acutely ill, cardio-respiratory and medical patients including clients with Acute Coronary Syndrome.
Telemetry monitoring, care planning and coordination of care with various team members.
Utilization of computerized systems for documentation of patient care.
Participation in project teams or Hospital committees as required.
Resource/team leader responsibilities.
Preceptorship of nursing students and new orientees

Qualifications

Current RN registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
BCLS certification upon hire to show proof of valid current certification (Registered Nurses currently employed by HRH are exempted).
Previous coronary care and telemetry experience required
2 years acute medical/surgical experience preferred.
Coronary Care 1 required and a commitment to complete Coronary Care 2 within 1 year of starting on the unit.
Physical Assessment course preferred.
Excellent customer service skills, sound problem solving, conflict resolution and decision-making skills.
Excellent patient/family teaching skills and an ability to promote family centered care.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to work with a multidisciplinary team, patients, family members and visitors.
Computer skills and excellent organizational skills with an ability to set priorities and meet deadlines.
Willingness to rotate to other departments

Responsibilities:

 

  • Perform all CT and Interventional Radiology procedures as per determined department protocols or as directed by the Radiologist
  • Ability to operate all types of equipment used within the departments, including CT scanner, Interventional system, Multipurpose Room, Contrast Injections etc
  • Prepare and assess patients for CT scan or Interventional Procedure including obtaining contrast consent, confirming exam validity, confirm exam validity, sterile technique practices and resourcing Radiologist as is necessary
  • Complete exam process by image review, confirming documentation and presenting to radiologists for reporting via PACS
  • Knowledge of and dutifully follows radiation safety practices for the protection of the patient, colleagues and their own occupational dose

 

Requirements:

 

  • Must be registered and in good standing with CMRTO.
  • Registration with the CAMRT preferred
  • CT and Interventional Radiology certificate preferred
  • Previous experience in CT and Interventional Radiology preferred
  • Ability to work independently as well as within a group environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Must have good teamwork and customer service skills.
  • Must be IV certified.
  • Excellent attendance and discipline free record required. 

Hours of work: Available to work rotating shifts including days, evenings, nights and weekends. Cross site rotation required, On call required

o   Communicate contractual obligations to client leadership prior to finalizing contract terms to reduce conflicts and issues with departmental interdependencies
o   Monitor and maintain compliance with contract terms and organizational procurement policies (e.g.non-latex, government-approved supplies) and update HRH contract commitments in collaboration with hospital Group Purchasing Organization (GPO)
o   Plan the timely renewal or development of new contracts by: involving users and those affected by the contracts; performing market research; development specifications and requirements; preparing request for proposal documents; and responding to Healthpro surveys
·         Manage Contract Database including –
o   Administer contract database (active and archive) electronic and hard copies in compliance with confidentiality and privacy requirements
o   Develop and analyze fiscal management, year-end financial reporting, savings, rebates, and trends to enhance fiscal stewardship
o   Analyze, identify, and recommend strategies to improve contract management and administration processes aligned with organizational strategies and priorities
o   Other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
·         Community College diploma in Business/Commerce
·         Completed Purchasing Management Association of Canada (PMAC) Level 2 courses
·         Degree in Business Management preferred
·         Completed post secondary courses in contract law in public sector preferred
·         Minimum of two years recent contract management or relevant experience including but not limited to:
o   Develop, Secure, & Renew Contracts

  • Responsible for the filling and delivery of all requisitions for stock items from Stores.
  • Monitoring expiry dates of inventory supplies in storeroom and on supply carts.
  • Maintaining supplies carts in an orderly fashion; supply cart build and design as designated by Manager.
  • Scanning, counting, picking and replenishing all Supply Carts.
  • Processing incoming inventory shipments and accurately entering into Meditech.
  • Ensuring that all credit transactions are correctly entered in the Meditech Hospital System.
  • Receiving, storing and reporting all incoming items, reporting wrong, short or damaged shipments.
  • Delivery of direct orders to the appropriate department and obtaining signatures within 24 hours of receipt.
  • Responsible for rotating dated stock items.
  • Processing returns from departments and shipping items out.
  • Assisting in regular stock counts and inventory counts.
  • Operation of equipment such as loading ramp, pallet truck and other equipment necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • High school graduate or equivalent is required.
  • At least 2 years of recent inventory management skill set and experience is required.
  • Computer experience and demonstrated data entry skills ability are required.
  • Ability to operate various pieces of equipment such as hand pump truck is required.
  • Good math skills are required (Math test will be administered).
  • Ability to perform consistent heavy lifting on a daily basis is required; must be able to lift heavy objects (a functional ability test will be administered).
  • Recent Hospital receiving and inventory experience is preferred.
  • Computer experience in a hospital environment is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of medical and surgical products is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to focus on small details of transactions with accuracy and precision.
  • Proven ability to prioritize a constant and varied workload.
  • Good command of the English Language (both verbal and written) is required.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A positive attendance record required.

Reporting Relationship: Manager, 9 East & West, Medicine & Nephrology

Position Responsibilities:

RN responsibilities for Nephrology and Medicine focused patients
Care planning and coordination of care with various team members.
Utilization of computerized systems for documentation of patient care.
Participation in project teams or Hospital committees as required.
Resource/team leader responsibilities.
Preceptorship of nursing students.

Qualifications:

Current RN registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
BCLS certification upon hire to show proof of valid current certification (Registered Nurses currently employed by HRH are exempted).
2 years recent medical experience with a focus on nephrology preferred.
Experience with Peritoneal dialysis, Continuous Ambulatory peritoneal dialysis and continuous cycling peritoneal dialysis preferred.
Completion of Nephrology 1 and 2 required or current enrollment with completion within 1 year of employment.

Basic computer skills.

Good problem solving skills.
Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to work with a multidisciplinary team, patients, family members and visitors.
Excellent organizational skills with an ability to set priorities and meet deadlines.
Willingness to rotate to other departments.

Demonstrated good patient assessment skills. Patient assessment course preferred.
