Qualifications

As an Accounting Services Representative, your work will have a big impact on our Facility Underwriting Personal and Comercial Lines Team. You’ll be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of Broker and/or Company Bill premium receipts and disbursements, reconciling and collecting Broker and/or Company Bill accounts, and responding to routine accounts related inquiries, in accordance with established standards. Support the underwriting function by processing, and perform routine administrative duties.

Here are a few ways you’ll make a difference:

Accurately process all methods of payments received by verifying and posting to the accounting system. Prepare and process bank deposits in conjunction with payments received, including verifying deposit totals with amounts posted to the accounting system.
Maintain filing system and abeyance files. Open, sort and distribute incoming mail, reports, cheques and faxes. Prepare, compile and dispatch documents such as invoices, statements, reports and cheques.
Record Broker Bill statements and payments in the payment register and input into the accounting system. Reconcile straightforward accounts, and resolve outstanding amounts through telephone calls, correspondence with brokers and inquiries to underwriting. Review and resolve daily unmarried cash reports, process correcting and adjusting journal entries, and process cheque requsitions for registered letter cancellations and broker credits.
Respond to routine phone and written inquiries from Clients, Brokers and underwriting regarding payments, disbursements, billing arrangements, payment methods and account discrepancies. Escalate unresolved issues according to company policies to ensure optimal level of customer service.
Verify and post banking information, reviewnew business, amend payment schedules, and process premium refunds for Company Bill accounts.
Input data on the policy management system and gather information using various computer based software programs in accordance with standard Underwriting instructions. Perform other administrative duties as assigned.

Internal Candidates
