Job Description

You work a variety of tasks to maintain the resort facilities, base area and terrain. In addition to general duties, maintenance and support around the resort, you help our guests with knowledge about current conditions, hours of operation and general inquiries.

You will:
Demonstrate a commitment to exceeding guest expectations on a daily basis.
Direct traffic and provide assistance to guests (special events, conditions, and building locations).
Ensure signs, ropes, gates and pylons are in place and maintained for guest and staff safety.
Provide an orderly and pleasant environment for our guests.
Perform housekeeping duties (garbage removal, landscaping, garden maintenance, firewood supply/stacking, assisting other departments).
Become familiar with resort products and services
Perform related duties as requested by Team Leads and Managers.
Work extended, flexible shifts, including weekends, in extreme weather conditions on resort.
Perform other duties as assigned.

You:
Have previous experience in a customer service, facilities, construction, or related role.
Have carpentry or maintenance skills.
Hold a valid class 5 driver’s license.
Are comfortable using small power tools (lawn mower, weed whipper, hand drill, etc.).
Are able to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Must be able to work in a physical role that involves long periods of standing, walking over rough terrain and lifting.
Are able to work in unconventional outdoor environment in a variety of weather conditions.

Whitetooth Grill Chef/ Outlet Manager

Role Summary

Our Whitetooth Grill Chef/ Outlet Manager sets the bar for service excellence and leads by example. You are responsible for ensuring our guests experience the ultimate mountain dining experience at the Whitetooth Grill in the Day Lodge and the Heaven’s Door Yurt.  You have strong leadership skills and a keen sense of detail, ensuring that food presentation exceeds guests’ standards.

This role will support our Food and Beverage Manager for department administration and organization, supervision of the Front of House (FOH) team and will maintain high levels of service quality at our Food & Beverage outlet, the Whitetooth Grill.  This is a hands-on position that requires stepping in and out of daily operations.  While supervising and supporting staff, the WTG Manager remains dedicated to the overall operation and function of the Whitetooth Grill, including the coordination, planning and organization of special events such as weddings, private evening social functions, and additional Food and Beverage events.

Hours

This role works flexible shifts, which are subject to varying hours.  Anticipated hours will be between 30 and 40 hours per week.

Accountabilities

  Act as the leader, calling the line and communicating with Front of House staff.

–  Prepare weekly reports, manage invoices and schedule the Back of House team.

–  Ensure food is received, stored, handled and prepared in a hygienic and Food Safe compliant manner.

–  Prepare, cook, and plate food to established quality and presentation standards.

–  Lead team orientations and meetings, as well as season start and end procedures.

–  Manage menu development at the Whitetooth Grill.

–  Maintain effective communication through restaurant and with teammates.

–  Ensure all cooks maintain a clean and safe work space at all times.

–  Perform other duties as assigned.

–  Assist the Food and Beverage Manager in developing, implementing and monitoring schedules.

–  Assist with training, coaching and building a successful & enthusiastic team of employees.

–  Contribute to administrative functions, including inventory management, ordering and reporting.

–  Assist with coordination, planning and organization of special events.

–  Ensure all restaurant processes are carried out accurately (cash-out, closing, opening).

–  Ensure daily cash consolidation is completed for the outlet.

–  Participate in the department’s Health and Safety program and maintain a safe work environment.

–  Recommend and implement changes to achieve Food & Beverage strategies and objectives.

–  Set clear expectations for the team and follow up on any disciplinary issues.

Requirements

–  Have minimum 5 year previous experience in a food preparation role in a professional dining establishment.

–  Are a strong leader who consistently ensures food and presentation standards are maintained.

–  Have a love of, and passion for, food and cooking.

–  Are physically capable of lifting up to 30 lbs and performing manual labor, standing for prolonged periods.

–  Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings and holidays.

–  Have Food Safe or other food handling certification.

–  Have a culinary background, education, or diploma – an asset.

–  Previous restaurant supervisory experience with a focus on customer service

–  Comprehensive knowledge of food, beverages and service

–  Experience with cash handling and administration

–  Proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and Point-of-Sale software

–  Current Occupational First Aid (OFA) Level 3 an asset
