Job Description
Food Services Cashier (Term)
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Replenish food and beverage stocks, condiments and other supplies in the cafeteria.
- Provide cashier services for purchased food and reconciliation of cash receipts.
- Maintain positive relationships with clients.
- Take inventory of supplies and equipment.
- Compile and maintain records of food use and expenditures.
- Provide efficient and courteous customer service.
- Organize and clean tables, trays, and microwave ovens.
- Maintain inventory of cafeteria drinks and paper supplies & food supplies.
- Maintaining temperature check/control of fridges.
- Beginning and end of day cash/cc& debit reports.
- Storage of food/drink in compliance with Health standards.
- Secure locks on necessary equipment, fridges, storage room.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Grade 12 diploma
- Manitoba Health Food Handler Training Certificate
- Three (3) years’ experience in cafeteria/food service industry, including handling cash and making change
- Knowledge of safe work practices related to kitchen equipment and supplies
- Valid Manitoba drivers’ license and access to a vehicle
- Able to problem solve and make decisions
- Able to work well as part of a team
- Professional oral and written communications skills, and work ethic
- Excellent organizational skills
- Able to demonstrate leadership skills
Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
- Post-Secondary certificate in Hospitality or Tourism is an asset
- First Aid/CPR Certification is an asset

Job Description
Academic Coordinator – Two Positions
Start Date: As soon as possible
Salary Range: $63,013.50 to $78,049.97
Location: Pembina Campus and/or remotely, as required
Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm (35 hours/week)
Reporting to the Program Manager, the Academic Coordinator is responsible for the overall day-to-day operations of a slate of programs within a program cluster, and will be responsible for the coordination of the delivery, maintenance and development of the assigned programs and courses of study within the College. This may also include, but is not limited to, participation on College committees and external committees as they relate to the institution and program offerings. The Academic Coordinator conducts training on MITT procedures and processes, assists program improvement initiatives, and coaches and supports new and current faculty, providing a bridge between all MITT departments and the faculty, students and programs.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Program Delivery and Operations
- Coordinate program delivery schedules (on-campus and online).
- Work with academic delivery staff (i.e. instructors, instructional assistants) to ensure programs have necessary supplies and resources; submit requests to purchase supplies for programs.
- Communicate with instructors and provide support to monitor student performance;
- Arrange for academic advising for students; send correspondence on lower-level issues (i.e. ineligibility to continue in program; absence threshold); meet with students where appropriate and escalate to manager or student services as appropriate.
- Ensure procedural fairness and consistency with regard to interpretation of MITT policy.
- Manage student requests for re-application into programs according to policy guidelines.
- Collaborate with internal and external partners on program delivery operations and ensure delivery standards are met.
- Support program teams to continuously monitor and evaluate delivery outcomes and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Create documentation for tracking projects, including successful operating procedures and lessons learned for future project growth.
- Coordinate documentation required for program registration and records to the Registrar’s Office including program course listings and online/blended learning requirements.
Recruitment & Human Resources
- Support and participate in the recruitment and selection processes of new academic hires; liaise with manager and instructors to organize technical testing as required.
- Prepare and submit appropriate hiring forms.
- Track term start dates, end dates, term renewals and staffing exits, ensure appropriate paperwork is submitted to People Services.
- Coordinate onboarding and training of new academic hires.
- Support and coach instructors on academic administration and procedural matters (i.e. CAMS, D2L use and documentation; student exits; course outline completion).
- Track professional development requests and support the scheduling of internal professional development for program teams.
Program Development and Continuous Improvement
- Identify program structure, policy, and curriculum gaps to align with institutional and academic vision.
- Identify opportunities to streamline administrative inefficiencies and work with affected stakeholders to roll out approved changes.
- Support student success by analyzing recorded student performance to determine aspects of curriculum delivery that may need improvement.
- Assist in research, consultation, and data analysis contributing to program continuous improvement.
- Assist in writing, editing, and finalization of SOIs and Proposals for program changes and additions; contribute ideas and analysis to the program development process.
- Assist in the review and preparation of documents related to revision or creation of policies and procedures.
- With support from program teams and the Centre for Learning and Innovation, develop and refine curriculum mapping of program streams, including mapping to external employment and qualifications frameworks.
- Support program teams in curricular and operational refinements to enhance pathway partnerships and support the development of required pathway/articulation agreements.
- Support documentation for Accreditation, re-accreditation, and other certification processes as identified by the Program Manager.
- Work closely with the program team, Program Manager, Centre for Learning and Innovation staff, and industry experts in program reviews to ensure that courses and programs are relevant and respondent to the needs of the business community.
Collaboration and Partnerships
- Work with other post-secondary institutions and school divisions with similar program areas to share non-exclusive and non-proprietary curriculum, as well as teaching and learning tools and best practices.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to continuously monitor stakeholder needs and provide timely feedback.
- Consult regularly with the appropriate Program Manager and provide status updates on activities.
- Build effective relationships across various functional areas and with partners.
- Liaise with professional industry associations and community partners.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
A combination of related education and experience may be considered.
- Degree or diploma in a relevant field to the assigned program cluster
- Degree or diploma in education (e.g. adult education, technical/vocational education) preferred
- 3+ years’ experience designing and implementing classroom-based learning solutions with an understanding of trends in secondary and post-secondary education;
- Sound knowledge of adult learning principles and program planning and development;
- Demonstrated experience in one or more fields within the assigned program;
- Demonstrated experience in a project-based environment, able to manage multiple tasks in a rapidly changing, deadline-oriented environment;
- Technology savvy and intermediate level of experience using Microsoft Office suite and Outlook, Adobe, Internet;
- Ability to work well under pressure, manage change, and contribute to shared solutions for complex problems;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Creative problem solving skills and critical thinking skills;
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to develop internal and external partnerships;
- Ability to effectively interact with others and handle stressful situations, where tact and diplomacy are needed;
- Demonstrated sensitivity to the needs and issues of marginalized individuals and groups including Indigenous peoples, immigrants, newcomers and people with disabilities;
- Thoroughness with attention to detail in producing high quality work;
- Ability to act independently and demonstrate initiative within defined objectives and direction.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
- Experience in post-secondary instruction considered an asset.
- Experience with one, or more, of the following: international, secondary/post-secondary, adult, or special needs students.
- Experience working within a learning management system.
- Project management experience.
