Job Description

NorQuesters are difference makers and we’re searching for someone dedicated to making a difference to join our Instructor Development Support Team.

We are seeking two energetic, experienced instructors to develop asynchronous courses for faculty working in diverse classrooms.

These 2 short-term positions includes up to 50 hours of development time per position. The work will take place between May 16th and June 15th, 2022. One person may be considered for both positions, depending on capacity and availability.

If you are looking to help our faculty find ways forward with international learners, and you can be dependable and compassionate to our learners, consider joining our team in this opportunity.

HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE

Each position will include the following:

Develop a 3-hour asynchronous Moodle course providing faculty with tools to navigate diverse classrooms. Each course will lead to an internal micro-badge:
One course on establishing appropriate assignment guidelines & providing effective feedback for learners from different cultural backgrounds
One course on using plain language to support diverse learners.
Use a variety of interactive approaches to materials delivery.
Work as a member of a team, including liaising with the Instructor Development Support team, as needed.
Note that some resources, materials and guidance will be provided to you to guide you in this task.

WHAT YOU BRING

Experience working in a post-secondary institution.
Experience with online course delivery, learner management systems (Moodle) and interactive tools (i.e. H5P, VoiceThread, etc.).
Previous experience with online course development is preferred.
Previous instructional experience with international students is preferred.

What you bring

  • Related university degree

  • Day to day point of contact for financial institutions the college has partnered with including banks, payment card industry services partner and international payment services providers.
  • Oversight of the accounting for Cash including preparation of accounting entries, bank reconciliations and preparation of cash related notes in the college’s financial statements.
  • Develop business processes, policies and/or procedures for the acceptance of cash including appropriate risk management mitigation strategies for both existing and new business partnerships and enterprises in accordance with college policies and procedures and PSAS.
  • Forecasting of colleges cash flow needs.
  • Day to day point of contact with portfolio investment management firm(s).
  • Oversight of the accounting for portfolio investments including reconciliations and preparation of related notes in the college’s financial statements in accordance with the colleges policies and procedures and PSAS.
  • Lead the preparation of documentation and participate in discussions  in response to the various audits performed for the college.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial reporting documentation required by Advanced Education as required.
  • Variance analysis on changes in values year over year and against applicable budgets.
  • Identify and lead business process improvement activities  with respect to the management of cash and portfolio investments.  Strategic thinking around payment opportunities for the future for our learners while ensuring risk perspectives are fully considered.
  • Support the optimization of working capital

WHAT YOU BRING 

  • Education – Working towards earning a CPA designation, CPA designation preferred.
  • 3-5 years of full cycle accounting experience
  • 3-5 years of experience within a cash management and treasury solutions role, preferably in the public sector or post-secondary environments.
  • Solid knowledge of accounting principles, financial statement reporting, financing principles and audit standards.
  • 3-5 years of experience in delivering projects to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the management of cash and portfolio investments with a focus on automation.  Lean six sigma experience will be an asset.
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite of applications with strong Excel and Word skill.

Job Description

NorQuesters are difference makers and were searching for someone dedicated to making a difference to join our Continuing Education and Partner Solutions team as a Supply Chain Management Subject Matter Expert.

NorQuest College – CEPS is seeking experienced subject matter experts (SMEs) to provide consultation and course development for the creation of courses related to Supply Chain Management on a contract basis. Course development will include topics such as: logistics, including global logistics and international trade, business processes related to supply chain management, macroeconomics, contract law, supply chain technology, negotiating skills, leadership skills, and/or inventory and warehousing.

SMEs will be hired on a fee for service contract basis for this project only and as such, full responses are to be submitted before we move forward with selection. This is not a full-time job; but will require the SME to be available for consultation between December 2020 and June 2021.

Availability

+ The SMEs will be available for ongoing consultation (approx. 5-10 hours per week) between December 2020 and June 2021.

How youll make a difference

+ Overview of course learning objective:

+ To create a program that prepares students for a career in supply chain management by working with an instructional designer to consult on topics related to supply chain management.

+ General Scope of Work:

+ Review existing course content and materials prescribed by NorQuest College;

+ Provide consultation and knowledge to an instructional designer to create courses related to topics chosen by NorQuest College;

+ Assist with the generation of classroom materials, curriculum, and other materials as required;

+ Effectively manage time to ensure project is completed on schedule;

+ Monitor and report to NorQuest College on project progress;

+ Respond to communication from NorQuest College staff in a timely manner, both prior to and during curriculum development; and

+ Participate in a program creation debrief meeting(s) with NorQuest staff, and provide specific recommendations related to the course, materials, student preparedness, delivery format, etc.

What you bring

+ Have 5+ years working within supply chain management or a closely related field.

+ Have, or be working toward, a Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) designation.

+ Have previous experience with teaching or coaching.

The following attributes are an asset:

+ Degree or diploma in a related field

+ Experience supporting, helping, or consulting with an instructional designer

+ Working within the field of supply chain management

+ Understanding of the job market for supply chain management jobs in Alberta

+ Prior knowledge and/or experience teaching or coaching adult learners (in a classroom or professional setting)

+ Ability to convey knowledge in clear and succinct ways

+ Energy and enthusiasm for developing a new training program for those entering the field of supply chain management
