Job Description

The Cost Accounting summer student is responsible for providing exceptional full time support to the Cost Accounting team for the summer. As a member of the team, you will assist with the day-to-day activities and also be responsible for providing support with data cleanup and data maintenance, as well as provide support on special projects as assigned by the Cost Accounting team or the Finance Team.

Job Duties:

Work within a cross-functional team environment to gather information with the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively.
Assist with organizing and analyzing cost of expenditures and tracking fixed costs.
Provide support with ongoing maintenance and clean-up of data.
Compile and prepare routine reports and summaries
Perform other job-related duties as requested.
Qualifications

Basic to mid-level understanding of accounting/finance concepts would be an asset
Attention to detail, superior organizational skills, critical thinking skills, combined with the ability to multi-task required
Ability to work independently and cohesively in a team
Ability to work in timeline driven environment
Excellent analytical/modeling and communication skills
Previous experience using an ERP system would be an asset

  • Work with the Inbound and Procurement Team to ensure ingredient inventories remain at levels appropriate for manufacturing requirements and working capital goals.
  • Make quarterly proposals for safety stock, which are appropriate to manufacturing requirements and are within working capital targets. Input proposals to M3.
  • Set up agreements in M3. Monitor, modify and terminate contracts as needed.
  • Plan and release purchase orders in M3 for the assigned ingredients based on M3 proposals on a timely basis prior to receipt and consistent with supplier and transit order lead-time.
  • Review MRP proposals. Determine, update and register call off sequences.
  • Update and confirm the shipping dates with the suppliers and the delivery date in M3.
  • Make quarterly proposals of costing elements and set it up in M3 after approval.
  • Work with inbound and RM planner to solve invoice quantity mismatch issues.
  • Make proposals for standard cost and communicate it with the formulation and accounting teams after approval.
  • SOP update for the relevant tasks.
  • Develop knowledge with the material plan and its impact on purchasing.
  • Review supplier selection and work with quality dept. on supplier approval.
  • Document complaints and return order to supplier.
  • Receive information on credit note and close claim.
  • Vendor management and supplier performance review.
  • PQA management.
  • Collect and report on supplier performance data.
  • Run power BI reports for appropriate tasks and business analysis.
  • Maintain raw material item settings, lead time and safety stock levels.
  • Provide analysis on historic spend and inbound freight cost.

 

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years experience in a Purchasing or Supply Chain role.
  • Grade 12 or equivalent.
  • Completion of an Operations Management Program and/or Supply Chain accreditation would be considered an asset.

The Multi-Skilled Operator is an “all-round” operator role, capable of performing all operational processes in production. He / she is able to operate all types of equipment and machinery that requires advanced specialized. Job Description

The Financial Administrator is accountable for performing a variety of routine and some non-routine administrative / accounting functions in accordance with the established standard procedures in general accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit and collection, master data management, payroll or another related financial area, in order to ensure adequate and reliable accounting of finance related transactions.
He / she assists more senior Administrators / Financial Managers as required. At a more senior level, the Financial Administrator is responsible for overseeing daily ledger entries and performing checks and balances to ensure proper accounting of finance transactions in all domains.
Depending on the size and structure of the Financial department / function, the role of a Financial Administrator may focus on one area (Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, etc.), or have a wider focus, combining activities in more areas.
The level of the Financial Administrator is defined by the required Know-How and the complexity of the tasks. At a more senior level (IV and V) the Financial Administrator may also act as Team Leader for more junior levels and for Administrative Assistants.

  •  Accounts Receivable
    o Prepares outgoing customer invoices, in accordance with internal procedures, to realize a timely invoicing and proper accounting of receivable positions.
    Monitors and codes outgoing invoices and journal entries of invoices. Collects and files all relevant documents related to invoices.
    o Prepares and processes of reminders, in accordance with established procedures, in order to expedite payments. Provides information on credit, rebates and
    claims resolution. Gathers credit and/or reference information. Prepares notices and reminders, checks and adjusts claims for injunctions; calculates / checks
    statutory interest for subsequent reminders, contacts non-paying debtors
    o Monitors the progress of the collection procedure in consultation with the supervisor in order to take timely measures to (make) appropriate arrangements,
    i.e. provision of claims for collection after consultation with the supervisor, writing-off of receivables after approval by the supervisor.
  • Accounts Payable
    o Processes incoming vendor invoices, in accordance with internal procedures, to realize a proper accounting of the debt position. Monitors and codes
    incoming invoices and journal entries of invoices. Collects and files all relevant documents related to invoices.
    o Ensures timely preparation of payment proposals in accordance with internal procedures, taking appropriate action to make payments, resolve discrepancies,
    etc.
  • General Ledger
    o Processes incoming payments, in accordance with internal procedures, to realize a proper accounting of incoming funds. Monitors and codes incoming
    payments and journal entries of incoming payments. Collects and files all relevant documents related to payments in order to have a traceable record of
    payments
    o Checks payments requests and processes employee expense claims
    o Checks and specifies various ledgers of the companies in scope, solves out balance sheet entries and interim accounts posts
    o Checks and reconciles the various administrations (financial administration, salary-administration, fixed assets) and ensures these are fully aligned on a
    monthly basis; makes entries / posts to the various journals, ledgers and other accounting records (e.g. depreciations, salaries, standard journal entries)
    o Ensures periodic reconciliation, filing and payments of statutory taxes / contributions such as VAT, local, regional and national tax, customs etc.
  •  Master Data Management and Financial Data Processing
    o Monitors the quality data processed through the financial / ERP systems and ensure that the data used / entered matches the reference data (the set of
    permissible values within Nutreco
    o Provides accounting and clerical support by accurately and timely preparing and maintaining accounting data, documents and records
    o Researches, tracks and restores accounting or documentation problems and discrepancies
  •  Reporting
    o May compile data and prepare standard and special reports, to ensure management receives appropriate information in an accurate and timely manner.

  • Service
    o Provides a high standard of assistance and customer service to both internal and external customers.
  • Payroll and other duties
    o May assist in the preparation of payroll, processing hourly and/or salaried staff payroll data. Records and reconciles hours worked and enters all payroll

    o May be assigned with other duties and projects as appropriate in the area of finance and administration
