What is the opportunity?

This unique position calls on your client-focused advice expertise and natural problem-solving skills to maximize each client interaction by helping clients with their everyday banking, credit, and investment needs. As an RBC ambassador, you add value in the moments that matter most to clients and collaborate with other RBC partners to help clients achieve their goals. Whether you’re teaching a client how to use digital banking, onboarding a new client in an office, or referring a complex opportunity to a specialist, your expertise will contribute to creating meaningful and memorable client experiences, as well as drive client satisfaction and loyalty.

What will you do?

  • Proactively engage with clients in all areas of the branch and in the community, uncovering banking needs, providing help and advice, as well as identifying sales and referral opportunities
  • Focus on client education and demonstration, leveraging technology to deliver a memorable client experience, drive sales, and retain business
  • Respond to client-initiated contact, assisting them with a full range of financial transactions
  • Actively listen and engage clients in conversation to further understand their individual needs
  • Proactively take ownership of resolving and preventing client banking problems
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with partners to make the most of business opportunities and referrals

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Mutual Funds accreditation, or willingness to obtain it (i.e., Investment Funds in Canada or the Canadian Securities Course)
  • Goal-oriented individual with a demonstrated passion for putting clients first.
  • Problem-solving and people skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and proactively connect with clients
  • Flexibility, eagerness to learn, strong personal ethics, and a drive to succeed
  • Digital literacy across a broad range of devices (i.e., smartphones, tablets, laptops, etc.)

Nice-to-have

  • Track record in building rapport and maintaining client relationships within the financial or service industry

What is the opportunity?

You will provide business and financial advice and manage a portfolio of high value small business clients who need your help as they start, manage and grow their enterprises.  You are RBC’s ambassador to the local business market.  Applying your mindset for external marketing and client acquisition, you will develop new business for RBC and deepen client relationships. Partnering with other RBC advisors and specialists, you will contribute to creating an experience that clients appreciate and value.

What will you do?

  • Acquire, grow and deepen client relationships through delivery of value-added, tailored financial advice to meet their needs
  • Proactively contact clients, gather insights through client discovery, understand their needs and changing circumstances and ongoing satisfaction with all of RBC
  • Plan and prioritize client and market activities, find opportunities and make introductions to RBC partners to fulfill clients’ business and personal financial needs to win as One RBC
  • Manage risk and exercise due diligence in all banking procedures and develop appropriate action plans in response to concerns/risks
  • Champion digital enablement and be an advocate of RBC mobile and online applications, enable our clients to engage with RBC through the channel of choice
  • Be on your client’s path, visit your clients on-site to gain a thorough understanding of their business objectives and operations, as permitted

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Business development and client acquisition and prospecting skills,  including building and leveraging valuable Centres of Influence within the local business community
  • Proven track record in exceptional client relationship management
  • Excellent communication, time management and organizational skills

Nice-to-have

  • Credit skills and knowledge, including an understanding of risk assessments, financial analyses, credit structuring/solutions, and deal presentations
  • Completion of the Associate Account Manager training program, or have previous experience as a small business owner, or in similar field
  • Good knowledge of a broad array of business and personal financial products and services

  • Model & coach your team on client advice and education, problem resolution and prevention at first point of contact, and advocate for digital enablement and multichannel usage
  • Partner with your manager to ensure operational effectiveness of the branch and maximize the performance of the team
  • Address local community needs through appropriate recruitment and management practices

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in a relationship management role within the financial industry (i.e. Banking Advisor, Financial Advisor)
  • Experience in a coaching /  leadership role, or acting as a mentor to service or sales professionals
  • Mutual Funds accreditation (IFIC or CSC) and at least 2 years of licensed mutual fund sales experience within the last 3 years
  • Completion of an acceptable mutual fund branch management exam (BCO) offered by the CSI or ability to write the exam within 4 months of start date
  • Demonstrated success delivering / coaching to providing advice to clients resulting in strong client relationships and superior sales results

Nice-to-have

  • Strong communication and decision-making skills, with the ability to communicate and lead change
  • Strong multi-tasker and self-starter who is comfortable working independently, as well as in a flexible environment
  • A post-secondary diploma/degree, ideally in Commerce, Business Administration or related experience
