The Senior Manager, Risk Operations is responsible for ensuring proper risk governance by providing risk management subject matter expertise to challenge and support the first line of defense execution within Tech Infrastructure, providing advice on the development of risk statements, implementation of procedures, controls and related guidance in alignment with the Enterprise IT Risk and Technology Infrastructure (TI) Risk frameworks.

What will you do?
- Lead a team of Risk Managers in providing risk advisory services and support to all pillars within Tech Infrastructure.
- Act as a strategic risk resource to coordinate Tech Infrastructure response to regulatory inquiries/examinations, internal and external audit reviews.
- Support a comprehensive set of Tech Infrastructure risk controls that align with applicable RBC standards, industry practices and current and emerging regulatory requirements.
- Ensure that risk statements, findings, responses and controls are fairly presented in ongoing reporting and escalate to senior management when necessary to avoid overdue items and ensure closure.
- Conduct periodic Quantitative Risk Assessments (QRAs) for the Technology platforms and the associated components.
- Prepare and analyze Tech Infrastructure pillar risk profiles, recommend and oversee risk mitigation processes and communicate regular reviews to management.
- Promote awareness of operational risk and establish practices to foster a culture of issue self-identification and support partners in the Risk Issue management processes to carry out their roles effectively and consistently.
- Provide risk advisory services to platform owners in preparation for Internal and external audits and coordinate information gathering during audit engagements.
- Build and manage effective relationships with key stakeholders, team members, and other business, functional and support groups. Collaborate with senior leaders to ensure alignment of Technology Infrastructure Initiatives.
- Seek industry trends and organization knowledge to understand and support implementation of effective risk management practices.
What do you need to succeed?
Must Have:
- 5+ years of technology domain experience in information technology, risk management or risk assurance in the financial services industry.
- Knowledge of IT Risk frameworks, methodologies and industry standards related to IT and Cyber Risk management, including emerging trends and issues.
- Working knowledge of key infrastructure at RBC, including good understanding of the risks associated with the platforms.
- Maturity level and skill/judgment to be able to deal effectively with senior management and operational risk groups throughout the organization.
- Good communication (verbal and written) skills, including strong appreciation of relationship management; sound problem solving, analytical, research, and quantitative skills.
- Demonstrated expertise in a broad range of Information Security and Risk Management principles and practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent.
- Industry recognized qualifications and certifications in Information Security and/or Risk Management (CISSP /CRISC/CISSP)
- People management and leadership skills.
- Previous experience with GRC tools.

We are looking for dynamic individuals with a passion for helping people to join our fast-paced Home and Auto team at the RBC Insurance Advice Centre. As our Licensed Insurance Advisor, you will interact with clients over the phone, and provide them with insurance advice and solutions based on their individual needs. Your ability to provide superior customer service, build rapport and gain the clients’ confidence will be critical to your success. With the ultimate goal of strengthening client relationships, you will contribute to an individual and team sales plan, successfully achieved through spotting opportunities, selling solutions and referring to partners.
What will you do?
Complete personalized needs assessments and reviews by leveraging tools, resources, and calculators to demonstrate value and support advice recommendations
Provide insurance advice and solutions to clients based on their needs and ensure clients are charged premiums that correspond with risks
Exhibit a consistent, positive client experience with every conversation and resolve client concerns at the point of first-call, demonstrating the ability to connect through discussion and escalate as necessary
Demonstrate a solid understanding of regulatory risk when writing and updating new business policies
Apply critical thinking during client interactions in order to identify and analyze acceptable and unacceptable risks
Perform front-line underwriting of Home and Auto policies
Use procedures effectively and seamlessly during calls
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
Excellent communication skills in French and English
Damage Insurance certificate issued by Quebec Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF) or in the process of completing the exams required by the AMF OR willing to obtain the certification during the RBC training session.
The willingness and ability to successfully complete the Ontario and other provinces certifications (full training program offered by RBC Insurance)
Flexibility to work a variety of shifts as our Centre is open Monday to Friday 8:00am to 8:30 pm in order to better help our clients.
