What is the opportunity?

RBC Capital Market Data Content & Modeling team is looking for a highly skilled analyst to join the team. The analyst will be part of a team of Business Analysts and Data modelers with a focus on: documenting data requirements, identifying data requirements gaps, supporting the datasets registration, ingestion and consumption processes, standardizing data within the Capital Market domain (includes but not limited to Trades/Orders/RFQ’s, Calculated Results such as Risk and Profit and loss reporting) and other structured & unstructured datasets used for analytics. He/She will be required to engage with senior Data Architects, IT System Owners, Business Analysts, Data Stewards, Data Owners to drive the standardization effort across different Lines of Business (LOB’s) and functions (Front Office, Operations, Market Risk & Finance etc.)

Reporting to the Associate Director, Reporting & Analytics Lead in Data Content & Modeling (in the United States), this role requires a team player who will partner with other IT groups and business teams across Capital Markets to assess and document business and data requirements.

What will you do?

Gather requirements for standardizing data from trading applications and external counterparties for consumption within capital markets
Assist in data standardization effort for Cash Equities, Equity Derivatives and Futures data(includes but not limited to transactional, reference data)
Participate in the system UAT/ validate and perform outcome analysis/ assumptions.
Work collaboratively with other teams supporting the data standardization initiative to meet stakeholder requirements within agreed upon timelines
Manage analysis around data quality reporting and provide recommendations
Assist in developing data quality controls for critical data elements
Plan and manage user acceptance testing for successful delivery of end product
Participate in agile scrum ceremonies to manage stakeholder expectations and communicate progress
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have

Bachelor’s degree or diploma in business, finance, accounting or engineering
Experience in supporting the electronic trading domain. Preferably in Equities.
Data system analysts/data modelers /system analyst experience
SQL. Experience with creating Entity relationship diagrams for relational data modelling
Exposure to data analytics
Strong communication skills – Ability to summarize and explain clearly large and complex information to a wide range of audiences (senior managers, audit, controller, finance, model developers, regulators and controls)
Experience working with Jira, Confluence. Highly proficient in MS Office apps- PowerPoint, Excel and Word
Nice-to-have

Experience with FIX trading protocol would be preferred
Cross Asset experience of Cash and Derivative Products (Rates, Credit, and Derivatives), Commodities, Equities etc.
Good understanding of Trade Lifecycle (Pre, Post) and Front to Back functions (Operations, Product Control, Market Risk & Finance)
Post graduate certification
