JOB TITLE: IT Helpdesk Career Path Student
DEPARTMENT: Information Technology
REPORTS TO: Manager of Information Technology
LOCATION: Regional District of Kootenay Boundary 2140 Central Ave. Grand Forks, BC
STATUS: Career Path Student (4 months) as per the CUPE Local 2254 Collective Agreement
COMPENSATION: $ 21/hour + 10% in lieu of benefits
HOURS OF WORK: Monday to Friday 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. (April to end of August)
START DATE: TBA
Reporting to the Manager of Information Technology, the IT Helpdesk Career
Path Student is responsible for providing first call technical support for all RDKB
staff and on-site support for RDKB operations in the Boundary from Christina
Lake to Big White.
• Provide technical support via phone and video conference to all RDKB
staff during weekday business hours

• Provide on-site support as necessary to all RDKB Boundary facilities
• Diagnose and troubleshoot endpoints, hypervisor and switching infrastructure
• Update helpdesk documentation
• Other related duties as assigned by supervisor
• Be registered in a post-secondary Computer Science degree or Information
Systems technical diploma program in the previous year with a commitment
to return to school after the work term
• Have a working knowledge of Windows 10, Windows Server, and a solid
foundation in computer science principles
• Have a valid BC Drivers License
• Have excellent oral and written communication skills
