The Role: Business Development Representative (BDR)
The BDR plays a key role in helping to build a strong sales pipeline for new logo acquisition and account expansion. In this role, you will be a strategic partner whose primary responsibilities are to book initial sales meetings for Sales Account Executives (AEs) and provide support to the AEs as needed to move prospects through the funnel.

Core responsibilities:
Get the attention of stakeholders in target accounts who have likely never heard of SeamlessMD and convert that attention into scheduled meetings for Sales Account Executives. In other words, you will not be doing the discovery calls or sales meetings yourself – your focus is on booking meetings.
Achieve lead generation goals through strategic, high-velocity, outbound prospecting (emails, phone calls, social media, etc.).
Conduct market research to identify target accounts, collect contact information, map out key stakeholders and understand an organization’s relevant pain points.
Apply a strategic approach in outreach to target accounts (e.g. custom messaging personalized to specific stakeholders)
Become an expert on the product, solution use cases and current customer base, in order to deliver compelling messaging to prospects
Support your AE partner as needed with sales follow up activities, tasks or support. For example: once a deal has started, you may help with doing further account research, helping the AE get in front of additional stakeholders in the account, etc.
Take initiative to find ways to help AEs move deals forward
Use the company’s CRM to ensure documentation on contacts, accounts and leads are up to date
Collaborate with sales, marketing and customer success to iterate our lead generation playbooks

Required attributes:

Experience with medical or scientific literature (via education or work)
You will need to be able to understand and communicate about healthcare and scientific content, including both medical journal articles and industry content.
You must have either: (i) An undergraduate degree in the health sciences or life sciences, or (ii) Work experience in healthcare or life sciences

The Role: Strategic Account Director

The Strategic Account Director’s primary responsibility is to transform our product from a tool a few departments have adopted to a solution adopted and prioritized across an organization. This is a quota-carrying, Sales & Business Development role focused on upselling and expanding SeamlessMD across existing hospital and health system customers – ultimately leading to enterprise-wide contracts.
Note: Day-to-day implementation & maintenance services are provided by a separate Customer Success Management team.

Core responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a strategic expansion plan for each customer account. This includes building out an account penetration model that uses multi-angle access into key accounts
  • Act as a strategic advisor to key customer accounts, aligning SeamlessMD with the organization’s own strategic priorities and long-term roadmap
  • Achieve account expansion growth targets through a variety of upsell opportunities, ranging from single department upsells to enterprise-wide expansion deals
  • Build a robust pipeline of upsell and expansion opportunities through a mix of cold outbound prospecting, customer stakeholder networking, holding educational sessions and collaborating with Customer Success Managers to secure internal referrals
  • Engage with C-level and VP prospects to position SeamlessMD’s enterprise-wide value proposition and quarterback the deal to close
  • Collaborate with Customer Success Managers to deeply understand your key accounts, including stakeholders, metrics, issues and priorities. This includes participating in existing customer touch points, such as business reviews.
  • Lead conversations with a wide range of stakeholders across a health system, including clinicians, administrator, hospital executives and IT professionals.
  • Become an expert on the product, solution use cases, current customer base and industry trends, in order to drive meaningful conversations with customers
  • Deliver effective, custom presentations and product demonstrations to healthcare stakeholders for a variety of solution use cases
  • Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Customer Success and Engineering teams to continuously iterate our customer engagement model and account expansion playbook
  • Use the company’s CRM to ensure documentation on upsell and expansion opportunities are up to date

Required attributes:

5+ years of quota-carrying experience doing consultative, solution sales for $100,000+ solutions to hospitals and health systems
  • You are experienced at navigating complex hospital sales cycles that require engaging with and getting buy-in from multiple stakeholders, including C-suite executives.
Previous experience in a similar commercial role, such as an Enterprise Account Director  / Account Manager / Sales Executive or similar
  • You have experience building strategic relationships with executives and senior leaders in large organizations
Hunter mentality: take initiative to build your upsell & account expansion pipeline through direct outbound prospecting and networking 
  • While you appreciate referrals from Customer Success Managers or Marketing, you do not rely on others to help you build relationships from scratch, secure opportunities and achieve your account expansion goals.
Successfully been a Demand Creator, selling new products to early adopters.
  • We are pioneering a brand new category in healthcare for Digital Patient Engagement. Even if we have a small footprint in a customer, the broader organization is often not looking for a solution like ours, so you often need to create your own demand.
  • You have a track record of going out to the market and manufacturing enterprise sales opportunities from nothing. You have been successful convincing customers who weren’t looking for a solution, to buy-in to a new, disruptive product category.

The Sales Account Executive role

The Sales Account Executive will grow our customer base by closing new hospital accounts and upselling our solution across existing hospital accounts to achieve enterprise-wide deployments.

Position Overview

  • Hospital & health system sales experience
  • You have experience selling to hospitals & health systems
  • Able to work out of our Toronto office, while travelling to visit clients as needed:
  • Ability to travel to periodically (approximately 25% of the time, although this could change as the business evolves)
  • NOTE: We have currently put work travel on-hold since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, however this may change based on market conditions.
  • Our clients are currently located across Canada and the U.S., and potentially outside North America in the future.

The Role: Senior Software Engineer

You:

  • Are a well-rounded software engineer with a passion for building a better patient and healthcare provider experience.
  • Have built products that have been delivered to clients or published online/in the app store.
  • Have an excellent understanding of building robust and mission critical software that will be used in an enterprise setting
  • Enjoy working in a fast paced environment with potentially changing requirements
  • Are self-motivated and able to work independently

At SeamlessMD, you will:

  • Develop mission critical features based off user requirements from clients for an innovative platform that is implemented in hospitals and will have a direct impact on patient care
  • Design and implement product requirements on both the backend and mobile client in a dynamic and creative setting.
  • Produce high quality and well documented code
  • Communicate completed work effectively to rest of the team
  • Be immersed in an exciting startup culture, interface with medical professionals, and share our vision in creating a better healthcare system for everyone

Qualifications

  • 3+ years experience in tech product environment
  • 3+ years of experience with Ruby on Rails (or other significant web development experience – e.g. with Python or Node.js)
  • Javascript (React)
  • MySQL/Memcache/Redis
  • Web services (REST)
  • Github (or equivalent version control system)
  • Agile development methodologies
  • Bachelors in computer science/computer engineering or equivalent experience
  • Experience working in a start-up is an asset
