The Quality Assurance Manager, Candu Projects reports administratively to the Project Director for all Project related work, and functionally to the Director, Quality Assurance.  The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for the following:

  • Establishing and managing the project QA organization, including resources planning, staffing, and performance monitoring.
  • Developing the Project QA program (QA plan and supporting procedures) and assisting with implementation of that program by project staff through providing training on those program requirements.

What will you contribute?

  • University degree in Engineering.
  • Minimum of 10-15 years practical working experience in a relevant nuclear field.
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of procedures, processes, and assessment techniques meeting requirements of CSA N285.0, CSA N299 and CSA N286-05 and ASME codes.
  • Good understanding of relevant CANDU systems, and retube technology.
  • Demonstrated leadership and the ability to make a substantial contribution to the execution of department and project initiatives.

Maintain “Routing Guides” to ensure the optimal choice of transport carriers to be used, considering the service level required and cost factors for different services available for multimodal transport (Air, Sea, Rail, and Road).
Provide cost estimates on request to internal business end users, for movement of goods to domestic /overseas destinations based upon use of appropriate carrier and modes of transport (Air, Sea, Rail, and Ocean).
Arrange Export and import of shipments to/from offshore suppliers/vendors for warranty repairs/replacement purposes in compliance with applicable Customs and other Government department Rules and regulations.
Arrange logistics arrangements related to Export and import of project shipments (Hazardous, Dangerous Goods, Oversize/Off gauge) by various multimodal transports (Air, Ocean, Rail, Road) to/from various overseas destinations.

Requirements;

Engineering degree, and /or technical experience
Good English skills
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and text
