Your Key Responsibilities

  • Carrying out laboratory tests within our soils, concrete and asphalt laboratory with emphasis on soils and advanced soils testing procedures

The role of the Project Manager is to work independently or as a team member on a range of small to large projects civil infrastructure projects. Job Description

Your Opportunity

The IT Security Operations Analyst will monitor Stantec’s systems daily for signs of intrusion and coordinate with other members of the IT Security team on investigation, containment, and remediation of incidents. The ideal person in this role brings experience in identifying network and endpoint intrusions with industry leading security technologies in the following areas of SIEM Logging systems, Alert Automation, Azure Security Center, experience in 21st century end point and cyber defense techniques and has comfort working with global technology teams and regulatory frameworks. The analyst will also review and provide guidance to IT Operations teams around security best practices, compliance with Stantec’s regulatory and contractual frameworks, and act as an advocate for company policies.

This position can be based out of any of the Stantec Canada, United States locations.

Your Key Responsibilities

Review of security consoles daily for alerts and incident investigation/logging. Perform operational reviews of IT security systems and monitoring of key consoles for alerts and follows up on alerts, conferring with IT Security team as necessary

Review of network landscape and provide recommendations for solving visibility gaps

Stay up to date with current security vulnerabilities and attacks

Interfaces with user community and assists with IT security needs and projects

Performs basic to complex security reviews to ensure compliance with internal security standards and regulatory requirements

Participate in M&A assessments and integration activities

Initiates and participates in the investigation of alleged security breaches by helping to determine root cause, impact, remediation, and, if necessary, assisting with actions associated with such incidents

Respond to questions and suspected incidents through Stantec’s IT ticketing systems

Reviews current IT security trends to make recommendations for Stantec’s IT security

Monitors public and private channels for adversary trends or vulnerabilities and makes recommendations or adjustments to IT security systems to ensure operational effectiveness

Assists IT Security administrators in management and operational configuration of IT Security systems and controls

Ensuring that all security incidents and near misses are reported per Stantec’s Security Incident Response Plan [ITSIRP]

Act as advocates in support of Security Awareness and work with Stantec’s end-user community to promote good security practices.

Your Capabilities & Credentials

Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of information technology industry trends and emerging technologies and an ability to relate them to the company and its objectives

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Knowledge of tools and products used in day-to-day performance of job responsibilities (e.g., Sourcefire Remove, SIEM, End Point Detection Systems, Email Filtering and Quarantine systems)

Familiar with IT Security frameworks and relevant regulatory obligations (GDPR, SOX, NIST)

Familiar with risk management or auditing (ISO 31000)

Understanding of computer security concepts including Identity & Access Management, Network Security, Application Security, and Incident Management

Understanding of networking concepts and protocols (such as DNS, SMTP, FTP, SSL, etc.)

Education and Experience

Post-secondary degree/diploma in information systems or related field, or equivalent experience

Minimum of 3 years of experience in a related IT security role.

Certification in IT Security (ex; CISSP) is preferred.
