Job Description

The Structured Cabling Technician will be responsible for the installation of structured cabling of commercial buildings with a professional approach to customer satisfaction. We are looking for a self-starter with a passion for technology and is comfortable working independently and as part of a team, in a collaborative, goal-oriented atmosphere. You have a reputation for being reliable, customer-focused and approach your daily work in an efficient and highly organized manner.

This position will be based out of Edmonton and the surrounding area.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Installation of structured cabling meeting manufactures standards (cat6,6A)
  • Labelling of cables according to defined standards
  • Responsible for ensuring the Health & Safety of yourself and customers in an environmentally friendly manner while performing work
  • Ensuring test results are properly downloaded into the test equipment with the proper identification
  • Ensure customer expectations are met and exceeded with a high level of service and handled professionally
  • Responsible for completing detailed and accurate paperwork
  • Communicate accurate details regarding the progress of installation to site lead
  • Accountable for ensuring all prepared time sheets and expense reports are accurate and submitted on time
  • Follow and maintain all safety policies, procedures throughout the job and project and bring forth any recommendations; filling out JSA’s and attend safety meetings as required
  • Other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS

  • 1-3 years’ structured network cabling and testing experience
  • Diploma in cabling/telecommunication an asset
  • Must be willing and able to work various shifts as assigned (evenings, weekends & statutory holidays), based on business need
  • Read and interpret published work plans for installation purposes
  • Current CSTS and Working at Heights and Fall Arrest Certification an asset
  • Must be able to successfully complete a Criminal background check
  • Customer focused both internally and externally; ability to handle both favorable and unfavorable customers; excellent verbal and written communication
  • Comply with all safety regulations and meet safety training requirements to maintain a successful safety record
  • Ability to work well under pressure with tight timelines and frequent demanding deadlines
  • Ability to self-start and stay on task with minimal supervision; identify problems and situations and implement solutions or escalate as required
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse individuals and to handle calmly and efficiently situations ranging from routine to emergency
  • Professional, trustworthy, and reliable with a strong attention to detail

Job Description

Reporting to the Senior Operations Manager, the Training manager will be responsible for providing and tracking the full life cycle training to all current and new employees within the Install & Repair Team, working both in the office and out in the field as required.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the overall execution, of licensee and corporate staff training and development initiatives
  • Implements training programs based on Telecon business needs and based on industry leading best practices
  • Maintain knowledge of various training delivery processes including e-learning, remote learning, train the trainer, web-based learning, etc.
  • Manages and plans budgets
  • Conduct in-field auditing

Qualifications

  • You have 5+ years of leadership experience, and an understanding or equivalent experience in the Cableco/Telecommunications Industry
  • Must have some knowledge of cabling
  • Ability to create an effective and inclusive training and development environment for all employees
  • You are an excellent facilitator, with strong project management experience with a focus on training facilitation development
  • You have an engaging personality with the ability to encourage and motive others
  • You are a self-starter
  • Enthusiastic approach to working in Microsoft Office Applications (specifically, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and learning new technology tools and industry best practices.

Job Description

Reporting to the Senior Director, Connectivity Solutions, Western Canada, the Administrative Assistant is responsible to oversee and collect data of for Field Operations under Telecon Inc. This role is a primary point of contact with client/customers in respect to coordinating, gathering pertinent data and information for project status and roadblocks.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Track assets and distribution to employees and contractors.
  • Coordination meeting with stakeholders, including the client to review the project progress and plan priorities
  • Daily reviews priorities, actions and activities with the designated Operations Manager
  • Process all work orders as required
  • Validates that the project data entered into required software application is accurate
  • Review completions and partial completions before invoicing.
  • Work closely with Operations Manager and field teams to ensure alignment between office staff and field staff
  • Ensure proper implementation of company’s procedures with regards to health & safety, and quality
  • Coordinate roadblock resolution with engineering, wireline and/or construction when required
  • Perform a variety of clerical duties including but not limited to: weekly reports, order office supplies, filing, billing and payables
  • Respond to client inquiries
  • Verify, track, and update all driver and vehicle information pertaining to CVOR requirements
  • Work closely with Operation Managers and Team Leads regarding the commencement of work and any job related issues as they arise
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.

Education

  • Minimum High School Graduation Diploma with job related experience

Experience

  • 1-2 years’ experience as an Administrative Assistant, preferably in a Construction industry would be an asset

Knowledge

  • Computer literacy in Windows, Microsoft Office and Outlook

Skills

  • Proven time management skills with the ability to set priorities and meet objectives
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work and focus on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Dynamic, and able to maintain excellent relations with peers, customers and internal resources
  • Resourceful, adaptable, high integrity, self-starter
