Job Description

Retail Management Team (Dynamic Duos) – RelocationBeing unique is something to be celebrated. Embrace differences. Challenge and learn from each other. The extraordinary comes from different experiences and different lives. It brings us closer. We embrace the culture and languages of our nations’ first peoples and live together under the northern lights. The great communities that we’re a part of are rich with history and amazing people. We are the North West Company!

Retail Management Team (Dynamic Duos)

Permanent, Full-Time

Relocation to the North

We’re so much more than a store and you’re so much more than a Store Manager! The North West Company (NWC) is a 353 year old Canadian icon and a leading retailer to amazing northern communities –large and small. With over 130 stores, we strive to make a positive difference within each community we proudly serve. We bring products and services that help the lives of our community members. We are a community hub that offers a broad range of quality products, services and food.

It’s just so much better, TOGETHER!

One of the most unique aspects of our stores and the communities that we serve, is that we love to hire pairs of people. Siblings, friends, roommates, spouses, cousins…you name it, we like it.We hire pairs to fill roles at all levels, including Store Managers, Department Managers, Supervisors and Front-Line Employees. We encourage one of you to apply to the role that best suits you, and identify who’s coming with you. There’s a spot to attach a second resume too. If you’re successful applicants, the Recruiter that you engage with will speak with both of you individually.

We find that people who come to the North together, succeed together. It makes the transition and lifestyle changes so much easier when you have someone familiar to share the experience with. Of course you will always be accepted in the community, but it is nice to have a familiar face while you adapt to being away from family and friends back home.

As a team, you’ll be assigned to a store and each given your own career paths –but you’ll stick together throughout (unless you tell us otherwise). It’s a unique opportunity to grow your careers together, while having the adventure of a lifetime in Canada’s great northern regions.

To be successful we look for people who are adaptable, have great customer service skills, a strong work ethic, and the ability to lead from all levels. We want people who have an interest in learning about other cultures, and who demonstrate empathy and respect for the various communities that we serve across northern Canada.

If you and your dynamic duo feel that you have what it takes, we would like to hear from you.

The benefits of joining us

We offer once-in a-lifetime adventure. This isn’t just a career, it’s a lifestyle.

  • Competitive salaries
  • Comprehensive benefits package
  • Generous allowances for food and housing (a great opportunity to save)
  • Employee discounts within stores and with select partners
  • Paid training

Best of all, we offer job stability in permanent full-time placements, the opportunity to see and experience different communities, and personalized career growth. We have a deep track record of developing people into their full potential.

Joining as a dynamic duo means residual expenses are fully shared. With a guarantee that you both have full time hours, the opportunity to save is unparalleled.

Not a duo…not a problem. We like individuals too.
