Job Description

General Accountability

Provides various technical, analytical, administrative, financial, and field functions to ensure the effective administration of construction contracts. May be required to substitute on-site for the Senior Construction Inspector.

Key Job Functions

• Review and interpret contract documents, request for information (RFI) submissions, design changes and contractor submissions including scheduling details and safety related plans and submissions.
• Analyze construction costs (e.g. materials, change orders, payments, etc.) and schedules, bringing issues forward for resolution.
• Assist the Construction Site Manager with various reporting activities.
• Organize and attend progress review meetings, prepare meeting minutes, and convene special meetings as directed.
• Assist in detailed schedule planning/analysis, construction claims analysis, constructability reviews, as well as the provision and administration of construction services and labour resource planning.
• Demonstrates behaviours that support diversity, inclusion, and a respectful work and service environment that is free from discrimination and harassment. Helps to remove barriers and accommodate employees and customers (within their area of responsibility) in accordance with TTC’s commitments and obligations under the Ontario Human Rights Code (OHRC) and Related Orders, the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), and TTC’s policies.
• Candidate will be required to participate in the TTC Customer Service Ambassador Program.

Education and Experience

• Completion of a post secondary college diploma or university degree in a related discipline (civil/mechanical/electrical engineering), combined with several years of experience in the inspection and administration of medium to heavy construction projects in an urban environment; or a combination of education, training and experience deemed to be equivalent.
• Must be registered as a Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario. Engineers-in-Training will be considered.

Additional Requirements

• May be required to substitute for the Construction Site Manager in their absence.
• Sound knowledge of construction management practices and principles, construction techniques and practices, including familiarity with construction and safety laws, contract administration, contract inspection and claims management.
• Strong knowledge of, and experience in specialized construction scheduling methods and analysis.
• Sound judgement; strong administrative, technical report writing, interpersonal, and problem solving skills.
• Highly developed computer skills in spreadsheets, scheduling and word processing programs.
• Demonstrated tact and diplomacy to motivate and work with contractors, designers, end-users, and construction inspection staff.
• A valid Province of Ontario Class G driver’s licence and use of own vehicle required for visits to construction sites.

Job Description

Reporting to the department head, the incumbent is responsible for coordinating and conducting special projects pertaining to the department systems, methods, procedures and organization. The incumbent provides leadership, supervises, and plans the work of Data Analysts and Transitional Workers for the department. The position will be responsible for developing, managing, tracking and monitoring the departmental Work Plan. The incumbent is required to define and review business processes, as well as determine methods for streamlining work while maintaining or enhancing the information provided to other departments/customers. Additionally, this position is responsible for setting up access to, and ensuring parameter tables are updated in department systems.

Key Job Functions

Comprehensive knowledge of business analysis, systems analysis and database design concepts and practices as applied to various systems.
Knowledge of system and end user documentation concepts and practices
Good understanding of project management concepts and practices
Knowledge of end user support functions and data security/audit principles and procedures
Knowledge of current office automation technology, PC hardware/software and relevant application
Ability to plan, conduct and coordinate projects associated with the development, implementation and maintenance of information systems
Sound knowledge of Business administration and applicable government legislation
Highly developed analytical and problem solving skills; good presentation skills

Excellent organizational, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
