Job Description
OVERVIEW
The ECAP Marketing/Outreach Coordinator is responsible for providing marketing and “face to face”
services necessary to promote the BC Hydro Energy Conservation Assistance Program (ECAP) and
support the development and delivery of projects with non-profit housing providers and organizations.
The incumbent will also promote the Energy Saving Kit (ESK) program, when appropriate, to participants
who are not eligible for ECAP.
This is a regional position covering the Northern Interior territory and the successful candidate must live
within this region (or able to relocate at their own expense), must have a valid drivers license and be
willing to travel daily within this territory.
RESPONSIBILTIES:
• Conduct research to identify ECAP marketing or project opportunities
• Identify and inventory potential projects including initial research to determine potential eligibility
for ECAP and/or the ESK program
• Increase awareness and maintain/improve relations with Social Housing Providers, Service
Organization, Community and Advocacy Groups
• Regular coordination with team members, as required, ensuring seamless program delivery and
communication to external organizations
• Identify opportunities for program advertising and media opportunities and provide support to
develop and implement these opportunities as appropriate
• Meet and communicate with service organizations and community members as needed for the
benefit and promotion of ECAP
• Conduct presentations to non-profit housing providers as requested
• Distribute approved program marketing materials (brochures, applications, etc.)
• Assist with tenant engagement and identification of ECAP Champions within each project;
support Champions in their role
• Develop a comprehensive database of relevant groups and contacts by region that is available to
all program representatives operating in a region, ensuring that contacts and communications are
logged regularly for coordination with other program agents (e.g. Power Smart
Outreach/Regional specialists, Key Account Managers)
• Keep abreast with all company policies and procedures including health & safety policies and
procedures as well as WorkSafe BC regulations
• Participate in the Joint Health and Safety Committee when required
REQUIREMENTS:
• 3-4 years marketing/office experience
• Completion of post-secondary education – preferably in Marketing/Business Administration
• Local understanding of the Northern Interior communities. Preference will be given to someone
living in Prince George, BC
• Occasional overnight travel is required
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Intermediate knowledge of MS Office programs
• Experience with CRM programs is an asset
• Excellent organizational skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Own vehicle, a valid driver’s license and the ability to trave

The successful applicant will be responsible for, but not limited to, course preparation, laboratory contact
and preparation, delivery of laboratory classes, course and exam attendance, holding office hours, out of
class student support, and evaluating and grading student exams and assignments.
Applicants for this position must be a Master’s or PhD student currently enrolled in a UNBC graduate
program, as well as present a deep understanding of the material in the undergraduate courses being
applied for. Applicants should list any relevant courses they have previously taken. Other combinations of
education and experience may be considered.
