Beginning day one, we’ll create an environment that allows you to explore the various facets of Public Relations and Marketing:

Conduct and report on media monitoring to keep us aware of client coverage and what’s happening with their competitors, identify potential risks and support with crisis management.
Prepare and update media and influencer lists with fresh outlets, angles and voices.
Apply strong written ability to draft research reports, social content, internal communications and media relations materials.
Support event execution: generate ideas, source locations, coordinate vendors, engage with media/influencers, and set-up/take-down.
Develop briefs that help planners and creative teams understand the client ask.
Dig deep into consumer and competitive research to support with new business pitches.
Attend brainstorms alongside strategic planners, art directors and copywriters.
Assist account teams with ad-hoc tasks such as project management and billing support.
WHAT YOU’LL GET FROM US

Experience – You’ll be part of one or more account teams working on some of Canada’s (and the world’s) top brands. You won’t be watching from the sidelines, you will be IN the work.
Training and coaching – You’ll kick off your experience with a series of trainings to introduce you to the core areas of our work, and then be invited to workshops and ongoing local and global trainings to keep you on the cutting edge of some of the most advanced thinking in the industry.
Mentorship – You’ll be paired with a “People Champion” to ensure you get the most out of your experience and help guide your career.
Support – You’ll get a buddy (who was also a recent IGNITE intern) dedicated to showing you the ropes and navigate the agency world, as well as access to a network of current and former interns to trade tips and share advice.
A paycheck! – Our interns are paid hourly, at 40-hours per week.
Our IGNITE interns will earn practical experience as fully integrated members of account teams and will receive coaching from team members to help advance your career goals.

Job Description

Qualifications:

8-10 years public relations experience, consumer PR background desired; digital understanding an asset, but not required
Agency experience (preferred)

Needs to have a track record in client service to senior level clients
Strategic media relations knowledge
BA or BS in Communications or related degree

The Senior Marketing Analyst will join the team to focus on delivering insightful and impactful analytics core to the marketing and communications objectives of our clients.

The position will directly report to and work with the Toronto office but may support teams across all North American practice areas. This position will be dedicated to several of Weber Shandwick’s largest and most important client relationships.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Work with Global Intelligence teammates to create visually compelling reporting and insights that allow client to easily evaluate communications, media and/or site performance relative to business objectives.
  • Team up with data scientists and senior intelligence leads to develop reporting, articulating insights and building narratives that move internal and external audiences to act on our recommendations.
  • Leverage a variety of descriptive and inferential statistical methods to analyze data from multiple online sources.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to infuse all aspects of the work with data-driven insights and measurement.
  • Fully utilize tools and platforms designed to automate and accelerate data collection, integration and analysis. Examples: Google Analytics, Domo, Google Data Studio, Tableau, etc.
  • Interrogate multiple sources of information/data to look for trends within social and earned media, using tools such as Brandwatch, Quid, and Trendkite.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to design and execute media and siteside A/B tests.
  • Manage reporting tasks and data flows for media, site and social listening insights and reporting.
  • Evangelize the use of data to inform decision-making at all levels internally and externally.
  • Derive insights from data to create a compelling narrative that moves internal and external audiences to act on our recommendations.
  • Educate non-technical account team members on key requests and analysis process.

Basic Qualifications

  • Strong interest and capacity to translate data and research into strategic insights and recommendations
  • Passion for working with data and deriving insights to answer client business questions.
  • Experience with social listening tools such as Quid, Brandwatch, and Trendkite is a plus.
  • Experience with data visualization tools including but not limited to: Tableau, Google Data Studio, Domo, Excel, etc.

Job Description

This person has a strategic thinking mindset with creative problem solving abilities, refined project and team management skills and an understanding of the varied aspects of integrated marketing, including research, strategic planning and implementation. Familiarity with new communications tools, especially in the digital and social media realm, is essential.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop media relations action plans, including goals and objectives, media targets, story angles and outreach approaches, in collaboration with and support from senior media relations experts
  • Monitor media outlets, understand industry issues that directly and indirectly affect the client, and analyze and distill meaningful insights from media coverage
  • Generate story ideas and topic angles, draft media materials, and pitch media to land earned coverage
  • Support senior teams in developing strategic messaging for clients and creation of media plans and proposals that take an integrated approach to driving awareness with target audiences
  • Leverage influencers (e.g. advocates, bloggers/vloggers and other relatable voices) to impact clients, their brands and marketing goals
  • Provide thoughtful recommendations for content creation and distribution across multiple channels to support paid, owned and earned channels
  • Participate in office-wide initiatives, seminars and meetings to further professional learning and development
  • Actively participate in agency development and assist with new business

Basic Qualifications:

  • Qualified candidates will have 2+ years of previous experience, a BA or BS degree in communications or a related discipline, and offer an integrated skillset that combines media relations, influencer partnerships and digital expertise
  • Strong media relations skills and relationships with national and regional contacts across platforms
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with clients and internal team members across multiple levels and markets
  • Ability to contribute to research, strategic planning, development and execution of integrated marketing and social media programs
  • Strong understanding of overall social media landscape
  • Exceptional judgment and ability to think critically when working with team members, clients and partners
  • Extremely organized and detail-oriented
  • Independent, motivated and driven to meet key deadlines
  • Strong time management skills with the demonstrated ability to prioritize across complex projects
