As a member of a home Care Team, reporting to the Team Manager, the incumbent functions as part of the multidisciplinary team to ensure the delivery of a consistent standard of client nursing services. This is achieved through responsible management of nursing staff and other resources. Nursing Resource Coordinators supervise and manage their staff according to the MNU collective agreement, CRNM Standards of Practice and Operational Standards for the Visiting Nurse Program.
- Minimum 3 years recent clinical nursing experience. Community experience an asset.
- Experience supervising staff required, preferably in a unionized environment.
- Case Management experience an asset.
- Registered Nurse: Minimum Diploma; BN preferred
- Active CRNM registration
- Active participation in professional associations e.g. Association of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (ARNM) preferred
- Requires a valid Driver’s license and use of a vehicle
Qualifications and Skills
- Scope of practice as documented in the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA)
- Exceptional organizational and problem solving skills
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment and to prioritize a large complex workload to meet deadlines
- Exceptional communication skills – both oral and written

The Government of Newfoundland and Labrador, in consultation with the Board of Trustees of the Western Regional Health Authority (WRHA), is now recruiting for a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for the WRHA. WRHA serves approximately 78,000 people with an annual budget of $416 million and a staff complement of over 3,000. WRHA provides a broad range of programs and services to the people of Western Newfoundland in accordance with the Regional Health Authorities Act and its regulations. This includes comprehensive acute care, long term care, and health and community services throughout the region. WRHA provides community-based services from 24 office sites, community based medical services from 26 medical clinic sites (including traveling clinic sites), and has 8 health facilities. The corporate headquarters are located in Corner Brook, Newfoundland and Labrador.
Reporting to the Board of Trustees, the CEO is appointed for a five (5) year term and is responsible for the day to day management of the WRHA. Leading, overseeing and managing the delivery of services as well as implementing and contributing to the vision of Newfoundland and Labrador’s public health care system is the CEO’s top priority. Accountable for the development of strategic vision, as well as operational and budget plans, the CEO ensures WRHA delivers health care that meets the population’s needs. The CEO’s leadership is directed at ensuring a seamless, efficient, and efficacious continuum of health services for the region supported by an engaged workforce and strong collaborative relationships with community, regional and provincial stakeholders.
As the ideal candidate, you have a demonstrated successful track record of executive or senior leadership experience in a large and complex public health care system or similar environment, with multiple stakeholders. You are a strategic and visionary leader able to influence an organization at various levels and build consensus towards achieving its vision and goals.
You have an awareness of provincial health care and population health trends and an understanding of a full scope of interrelated health services from public health through home and community, patient and family centered health services, long term care, acute care, as well as mental health and addictions. You have the passion to be leading-edge, innovative and forward-thinking and have the understanding, finesse and flexibility to lead systemic and cultural change. You demonstrate resilience and flexibility and are able to foster collaborative relationships within a flat and lean organization; creatively leveraging resources to equitably provide quality services to geographically remote residents. You have experience developing trustful relationships with numerous and diverse communities, at the levels of both leadership and with the public.
WRHA is a predominantly rural regional health community, with numerous small and dispersed communities. As an accessible public figure, the CEO will need to have excellent public communication skills in a wide variety of contexts, including one-on-one with residents, patients and families. Experience working with Indigenous communities and organizations would be also be an asset.
