Job Summary :

Collaborate with ITC support teams and third party service provider(s) to ensure delivery of stable and efficient infrastructure computing services for internal business users and external clients.

Lead and coordinate project resources in the planning, and implementation of new technology and infrastructure upgrades for corporate business projects and internal initiatives.

Analyze and forecast ITC’s future infrastructure technology direction and capacity needs.

Major Duties & Responsibilities

1. Lead, develop and mentor Systems Engineers to ensure continuous improvement and compliance with established standards and best practices in order to meet departmental objectives, ensure deliverables are met and timelines adhered to.

2. Define and establish new guidelines, procedures, and principles when the underlying work processes are changed.

3. Develop and maintain effective working relationships with vendors so as to discuss and resolve issues, understand current state and business processes in the identification of future needs and opportunities.

4. Prepare Terms of Reference and business cases for proposed infrastructure project(s), engage in the development of contracts and Statement of Works and also participate in RFx (i.e. RFIQ, RFQ and RFP) processes to select quality vendor(s) for providing products and services. In addition, assist management in preparing annual budget.

5. Participate in the development of long term infrastructure technology and capacity strategy in collaboration with internal ITC support teams and external service provider(s) by:

identifying, determining and designing infrastructure system specifications and hardware/software compatibility;
analyzing business and non-functional requirements for corporate business projects;
providing input and feedback on different technology through conducting research in order to assess how new technology will fit into the existing infrastructure;
recommending optimum solutions for deploying new technology while estimating the growth of transaction volumes;
participating in capacity planning, software evaluation through testing functionality and concept.
6. Plan, design and review the architectural model of hardware infrastructure for the integration of both business and software applications by:

Liaise with business and application areas to review and assess new technology solutions;
reviewing and analyzing hardware capability and functionality;
creating/developing the architectural diagrams and the implementation strategy;
working with service provider(s) on the infrastructure setup to ensure that the design specifications meet BTS standards and business requirements.
7. Plan, lead and coordinate infrastructure installation/upgrade projects and related activities by:

collaborating with other ITC support areas and service provider(s) to define appropriate actions and functions for the achievement of desired outcomes;
developing system deployment strategies and options;
identifying any impacts and/or risks from a business operational perspective to avoid system down time/outages and meeting deadlines.
8. Define and develop a technology roadmap in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to aid in recovery of critical business functions by:

maintaining and recommending changes to the roadmap to accommodate new business requirements and modifying the recovery plan to align with those requirements;
developing and maintaining technology recovery planning (TRP) best practices guidelines;
developing, updating and testing technology recovery (TR) plans.
9. Provide expert advice and direction to ITC Management and support areas in identifying needs and/or changes to the infrastructure technology that affect system capacity/performance, availability as well as management of system resource issues by:

translating business requirements into meaningful data for trending and analyzing system performance;
identifying system shortfalls and deficiencies;
predicting and revising performance/capacity needs for the enterprise and recommending system capacity upgrades as appropriate;
overseeing capacity utilization of all business applications to ensure compliance with software licensing; defining and establishing policies/standards/processes in relation to system resources usage; for other BTS support areas to follow;
educating ITC support areas on the utilization of various system components and new system features through following established standards.
10. Explore opportunities to enhance/improve the reliability, availability and serviceability of the infrastructure by:

ensuring the highest degree of system performance
investigating cost saving opportunities through conducting research to refine, tune, modify and adjust different system technology components;
assessing current system architecture and developing strategies to optimize system capacity and performance;
proposing acquisition of new technology and tools to advance the current state of the infrastructure and to automate the operations of various components in the operating environment.
11. Ensure smooth and continuous operation of system performance and availability of the WSIB’s enterprise information technology platforms for internal business users and external clients by:

managing service provider(s) build, installation, configuration and maintenance of system technology based on defined system standards and overall system design;
collaborating with service provider(s) to minimize service interruptions by taking necessary corrective actions;
inspecting, examining and validating the setup of systems to cope with changing business needs;
supporting the development and implementation of new application releases;
reviewing and analyzing monthly capacity reports produced by service provider(s) using a set of established measures and metrics to ensure service level agreements are met.
12. Perform other related duties as assigned or required.

Job Requirements

Education

University completion at undergraduate level with a specialty focus in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics with certification in ITIL and one of the following certificates for design, implementation and management of infrastructure environment from Microsoft, Cisco, Red Hat, AWS, Google, IBM or Oracle.
Experience

Eight years prior experience in systems engineering or infrastructure architecture in various areas such as server administration, software installation/configuration, storage/network/data management, capacity planning, service management, vendor/supplier management and middleware software management

Job Summary

Responsible for the overall management of claims through development, implementation, and monitoring comprehensive and integrated case management plans for all case activities.

Case Managers will be assigned either Pre 1990 cases or the early phase of the case lifecycle or the later phase of the case lifecycle. Case Managers follow a structured case management framework, to enable them to achieve high quality outcomes and success with case planning and implementation.

Major Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive and integrated case management plans for all activity in the case required to achieve recovery, community integration, and where possible, return to work (RTW) by:
  • Collecting information to progress the case; assessing and positioning each case along its appropriate recovery path; setting goals and making decisions based on legislation, policy, and best practices;
  • Planning activities in collaboration with workplace parties and team members; participating in case conferences with the service delivery team and management; coordinating and taking action on planned activities; reviewing and monitoring new information as received; closing plan activities when active case management is no longer required; following up and evaluating close cases to ensure case management plan continues to be effective;
  • Provide targeted activities focused on identifying RTW factors, removing obstacles, and leveraging opportunities to facilitate a safe return to suitable work by:
  • Co-ordinating and facilitating RTW cooperation between the workplace parties;
  • Arranging, assessing, and adjusting the delivery of work reintegration services where needed;
  • Promoting prevention, disability management, RTW, and related programs to workplace parties; sharing best practices; connecting workplace parties with expert resources when they would benefit from increased capability to prevent and/or manage injuries and illness;
  • Keeping clients and employers informed of the status and progress of the case, ensuring they are fully engaged in removing barriers to, and planning RTW.
  • Identify and co-ordinate intervention by internal and external specialty resources and ensure timely and appropriate completion of these interventions and services by:
  • Referring requests for health care entitlement to the Nurse Consultant and liaising as required;
  • Referring requests for equipment, personal care allowance, home/vehicle modifications, and hobbies to the Occupational Therapist and liaising as required;
  • Referring requests for major home modifications to the Independent Living Consultant and liaising as required.
  • Make entitlement decisions based upon legislation, policy, and best practices and communicate these decisions verbally and in writing to applicable parties by:
  • Providing education on WSIB benefits, policies, and processes while informing parties of their rights and obligations under the Act, and of the consequences of non-compliance;
  • Responding to worker’s and employer’s request for clarification and/or reconsideration;
  • Monitoring employer and worker compliance;
  • Determining if a breach of obligations has occurred, levying penalties and fines and adjusting benefits as appropriate; referring to and /or working collaboratively with Regulatory Services for appropriate action, when required.
  • Attempt to prevent or resolve disputes. Handle requests for reconsideration and, if appealed, arrange access and process the objection.
  • Under the guidance of the Manager, Program Quality, when temporarily assigned, utilize knowledge of the case management framework and understanding of the application of WSIB policies and WSIB Acts to conduct case and telephone quality reviews.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or required

    • Adjudication is a process of decision making, gathering and weighing information against guidelines, policy and laws to arrive at an objective outcomes.
    • Case management is a process of assessment, planning, facilitation, and advocacy for options and services to meet an individual’s needs to promote optimal outcomes. Key activities include: collecting information, making decisions, coordination and actioning activities; reviewing, monitoring, guiding and directing cases towards resolution.Three years prior experience in Adjudication or Case Management and Customer Service.

Manage and improve the quality of data by optimizing processes for the analysis, evaluation and validation of data. Develop proactive approaches, data analysis tools and methods to

Develop various comprehensive policies, procedures, standards, reports and/or presentations on a regular or ad hoc basis to communicate current and desired future state of data quality and integrity at WSIB.

Provide expert advice and guidance to management on developing and executing data-cleansing initiatives for the purpose of improving, purging and eliminating corrupt, missing or redundant information from enterprise systems.

Major Duties & Responsibilities

1.     Provide subject matter expertise and contribute in the development, enhancement and sustenance of the Data Quality Program and manage processes and practices related to data quality to ensure data accuracy, viability, traceability, integrity and value. This includes in-depth expertise related to:

  • Identifying data quality risk, facilitating root-cause analysis, as well as resolving and communicating data quality issues impacting business analytics
  • Developing  data quality monitors, models, processes, and controls
  • Leading projects that perform data quality assessment, conversion, monitoring and validation
  • Aligning activities and deliverables of  the Data Quality Program to the Data Governance Framework and roadmap and contributing to the data strategy mandate
  • Leveraging data quality industry best practices

2.     Establish and maintain effective communications and working relationships with delivery partners, consultants internal and external stakeholders to ensure quality and integrity of WSIB data; Advise projects on the design and execution of data quality initiatives, guidelines and standards. Provide specialized technical assistance and advice to other Strategy Cluster and CBIA staff in the area of data quality and integrity analysis and in the development of data quality measures.

3.     Act as an expert on data quality aspects of the WSIB reporting and analytics data which includes: development of complex queries and reports to extract, merge and compile data; in depth knowledge of business rules for data transformation, business definitions, dimensions and measures.

4.     Create and deliver comprehensive and professional data quality metrics/dashboards, reports and/or presentations for WSIB management, internal and external partners on a monthly basis or as needed, tailoring deliverables to appropriate level of detail and with the appropriate client focus.

5.     Lead and/or participate in data quality projects of varying in scope and complexity by creating and implementing project plans, including the gathering of requirements, determining objectives and timeframes, planning and conduct User Acceptance Testing, creating detailed Work Plans and Project Status reports.

6.     Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation including policies for all data quality processes, procedures, metrics and controls.

7.     Provide client education in support of Data Quality initiatives by identifying training needs, providing support for any formal training required to maintain data quality and integrity, provide mentoring on the understanding of WSIB data and demonstrations or training on how to effectively use data profiling tools available to Corporate Business & Information Analytics staff.

8.     Perform other duties as assigned or required.
