Job Description

The Role: Xylem seeks a Pump and Service Mechanic to join the Toronto, Ontario team and report to the Branch Service Manager. The Company’s products and services move, treat, analyze, monitor and return water to the environment in public utility, industrial, residential and commercial building services, and agricultural settings. The Mechanic’s principle duties will include, but not limited: to dissembling / diagnosing / repairing / servicing of Flygt equipment. After probation the applicant will be required to assist with field work encompassing mechanical / electrical start-ups. The role will also encompass “On Call” for Emergency breakdowns – on a rotational basis.

Essential Duties/Principal Responsibilities:

Diagnosing, repairing and servicing of Flygt and other similar Xylem equipment
Dissembling Flygt equipment
Assist with field work encompassing mechanical / electrical start-ups

Minimum Qualifications: Education, Experience, Skills, Abilities, License/Certification:

Electrical knowledge of PLC’s and electrical control panels will be a distinct benefit

High School Diploma Required

The Role: Xylem seeks to hire a Human Resources Shared Services Representative responsible for serving as a primary point-of-contact for incoming new employees and general administrative support, data entry and data management. This position provides quality support services to clientele with a high degree of customer satisfaction, expertise, and timeliness in a fast-paced environment. Ability to speak French is strongly desired.

Essential Duties/Principal Responsibilities:

  • Document and respond to incoming HR queries within identified SLAs via Service Now, emails, walk-ins, or calls.
  • Performing transactions in various HR systems: Workday, Cornerstone and Jobvite,
  • Initiate onboarding, beginning with pre-hire screening and ending with all compliance and informational new hire information in a completed status, including completing I9 and E-Verify step.
  • Initiate off boarding, ensuring all compliance requirements are met and access to employee systems is decommissioned.
  • Maintaining employee documentation as required, such as personnel files, state reports, confirmation of employment eligibility, medical files, etc.
  • Educating employees and managers of services available to them and encouraging self-service tools in Workday, ADP, and other systems.
  • Review change of personal information requests and approve in systems after verifying documentation is received.
  • Ensure local policy, benefits, and any HR related information is kept up to date on employee portal/HR website.
  • Work with GFSS to ensure timely and effective data transfer between the teams and systems, as appropriate.
  • Escalate/triage issues or queries to Shared Service Representatives, Business Partners and/or COEs as needed.
  • Participate in enterprise-wide projects such as HR system upgrades or implementation of new HR technology regionally/globally, including testing and training, as needed.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members in order to execute tasks and fulfill key deliverables within Global Business Services function in order to develop credibility, supporting and backing up Global Business Services peers as needed.
  • Respond to benefit change requests in the benefit portal keeping accurate records of documentation provided in request.
  • Provide union administrative support, updating system information to align with union agreements.
  • Provide customer service support for software inquiries, password resets and general reports.
  • Updates procedures, information systems and technology to reflect changes in legislation prior to effective date of change.
  • Supports audits including internal audits, external audits and internal compliance reviews.
  • Provides data as requested to support internal investigations, regulatory compliance reviews and other reviews.
  • Implements and maintains data privacy contractual framework as required.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Provides feedback to assist in developing client services improvement projects (e.g. improve Tier 1 communications, Knowledge base content updates…).
  • Provides language translation support (clarify global level and audience: Mgr. English sufficient or Ee. local language)

Principales tâches et responsabilités :

  • Réaliser des transactions dans différents systèmes de RH, comme Workday, Cornerstone et Jobvite.

  • Tenir à jour la documentation concernant les employés, comme les fichiers personnels, les rapports à l’État, la confirmation de l’admissibilité à l’emploi, les dossiers médicaux, etc., selon les besoins.
  • Indiquer aux employés et aux gestionnaires les services qui leur sont offerts et les encourager à utiliser les outils de libre service dans Workday, ADP et les autres systèmes.
  • Étudier les demandes de modification des renseignements personnels et les approuver dans les systèmes une fois les pièces justificatives reçues.
  • Veiller à ce que les politiques locales, les avantages sociaux et toutes les informations en lien avec les RH soient tenus à jour sur le portail des employés/le site Web des RH.
  • Collaborer avec les Services financiers partagés à l’échelle mondiale pour assurer un transfert de données efficace et effectué en temps opportun entre les équipes et les systèmes, selon le cas.
  • Faire le tri dans les demandes ou les problèmes et les transmettre à un échelon supérieur, selon les besoins, aux représentants des Services partagés, aux partenaires d’affaires et (ou) au PDG.
  • Participer aux projets qui mobilisent toute l’entreprise, comme les mises à jour des systèmes de RH ou la mise en place de nouvelles technologies des RH au niveau régional ou mondial, cela comprenant les tests et la formation, selon les besoins.

  • Apporter un soutien administratif à l’organisation syndicale, mettre à jour les informations du système pour se mettre en conformité avec les conventions collectives.
  • Offrir un appui au Service à la clientèle pour les demandes de logiciels, les réinitialisations de mots de passe et les rapports généraux.
  • Mettre à jour les procédures, les technologies et les systèmes d’information pour tenir compte des évolutions de la législation avant leur date d’entrée en vigueur.
  • Appuyer la réalisation des audits, y compris des audits internes, des audits externes et des examens internes de conformité.
  • Communiquer les données requises dans le cadre des enquêtes internes, des examens de conformité à la réglementation et des autres contrôles.

The Role:

Xylem seeks to hire a Field Technician. The Field Technician will provide support to the XLI inspection team by assisting with multiple above ground pipeline inspections. The Field Technician will be responsible for locating pipelines and documenting pipeline positions using electro-magnetic locators and GPS equipment.

Essential Duties/Principal Responsibilities:

  • Assist with measuring the AC Voltage Gradient (ACVG and DCVG) while walking above the buried pipeline.
  • Assist and/or perform various over the line surveys (DOC, CIPS)
  • Assist with all aspects of data collection and reporting in accordance with established procedure.
  • Effectively communicate with landowners and clients presenting a positive company image at all times.
  • Maintain corporate, client, and government operating and safety procedures
  • Maintain all assigned equipment in good working order according to established procedures. Keep equipment charged as appropriate.
  • Effectively communicate inspection concerns to the Lead Hand or Project Manager in a timely manner.
  • Follow all Health and Safety requirements, attend meetings, complete forms, etc.
  • Provide support to other XLI inspection teams as required.

Minimum Qualifications: Education, Experience, Skills, Abilities, License/Certification:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Technical school degree in Petroleum Engineering or Environmental Services an asset
  • NACE certification an asset
  • Experience in corrosion control, protective coatings and cathodic protection monitoring an asset
  • Surveying and/or GPS experience an asset
  • Exhibits technical/mechanical aptitude
  • ATV, snowmobile, Argo, etc. experience an asset

The Role:

The Service Technician – Pumps & Controls will provide technical assistance to customers for all Xylem equipment such as pumps, motors, heat exchangers, control panels and should have experience with VFD programming (Danfoss, ABB, etc.) and industrial communications (MODBUS, Bacnet). Must be able to determine if equipment should be installed and run or removed and repaired.

Essential Duties/Principal Responsibilities:

  • The Service Technician is responsible for technical assistance (by phone and e-mails) provided to customers for all Xylem equipment such as pumps, motors, variable speed drives, heat exchangers, etc.
  • Site training of employees and service centers on Xylem equipment. Analyze failures and make or recommend corrections.
  • Provide remote technical support for start-up activities of new installations of pumping systems (including drives and auxiliary equipment). On site when required.
  • Works closely with the Service Manager to schedule start-ups, troubleshooting and field service projects when necessary.
  • Office work to be performed related to warranty claims, parts, customer technical support, new procedures etc.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications: Education, Experience, Skills, Abilities, License/Certification:

  • Degree or diploma in an Engineering program (Electro-Mechanical Engineering/Technology preferred) OR the equivalent level of experience and specialized training.
  • Requires a broad knowledge of pump hydraulics, assembly, materials, machine shop practices and engineering.  Must be able to troubleshoot systems and auxiliary equipment as well as the pumps.
  • Must have experience on drives and programming. Must have experience in industrial controls, automation and industry standard communications protocols (MODBUS, Bacnet).
  • Must be able to work safely in a construction environment with high voltage equipment.
  • Preferred minimum 5 years’ experience in a service technician position.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Bilingual English/French is required.

Physical Demands:     

  • Light lifting of 20-25 pounds.
  • Regularly required to sit or stand, reach, bend and move about the facility or customer job site.

Work Environment:

  • General office environment and use of phone and computer equipment.
  • Intermittent exposure to job site conditions, e.g., construction sites, industrial/power plants, wastewater treatment plants, etc.
  • Travel as required to fulfill the duties listed above or as required by the Company.

Le poste : Le technicien de service est chargé de l’assistance technique, du démarrage et de la mise en service de l’ensemble du matériel de Xylem, comme les pompes, les moteurs, tous les variateurs de vitesse ainsi que les échangeurs thermiques pour les produits de Xylem. Il doit être capable d’établir une garantie pour toutes les réparations effectuées sur le terrain et représente l’entreprise auprès de ses clients au moment de l’installation de tout équipement de Xylem.    Il doit pouvoir déterminer s’il faut installer le matériel et le faire fonctionner ou le retirer et le réparer.          Il devra également effectuer du travail de bureau concernant les réclamations au titre de la garantie, les pièces détachées, le soutien technique aux clients, etc. La connaissance du logiciel BPCS (système de planification et de contrôle des activités) est un atout. Le titulaire du poste doit parler français et anglais.

Principales tâches et responsabilités :

  • S’occuper du démarrage et de la mise en service de tous les produits Xylem. Former sur place les employés utilisateurs finaux et les centres de service sur tout le matériel de Xylem. Analyser les échecs et faire ou conseiller des corrections.
  • Superviser les activités de démarrage pour les nouvelles installations des systèmes de pompage (y compris les variateurs de vitesse et l’équipement auxiliaire).
  • Travailler en étroite collaboration avec le directeur de la maintenance ou de la qualité pour établir le calendrier des projets de démarrage, de dépannage et de ceux de maintenance sur le terrain.
  • Dispenser une formation sur place aux autres employés de la maintenance sur le terrain et à ceux des centres de service.
  • Travailler avec les clients pour les aider à résoudre des problèmes sur le terrain au moyen de photos et d’appels téléphoniques.
  • Réaliser des ventes et faire des factures pour certains services, au besoin.
  • Effectuer toute autre tâche demandée

Qualifications minimales : scolarité, expérience, compétences, habiletés, permis et attestations :

  • Diplôme universitaire ou d’études collégiales en génie (en génie ou technique électromécanique ou en génie ou technique chimique, un atout) OU l’équivalent en expérience et en formation spécialisée.
  • Connaissances approfondies en hydraulique, assemblage et matériaux des pompes ainsi que des pratiques des ateliers d’usinage et en génie. Capacité à diagnostiquer la cause des pannes des systèmes, de l’équipement auxiliaire et des pompes. Expérience des lecteurs et de la programmation concernant les produits de Xylem. Capacité à travailler de manière sécuritaire dans un milieu de construction où l’on utilise du matériel à haute tension.
  • De préférence 5 à 8 ans d’expérience à un poste de technicien en maintenance

The Role: The Bilingual Aftermarket & Services (AMS) Sales Analyst is the primary interface to support field sales representatives and directly supports aftermarket products and services. This includes generating and supporting existing and new business by following up on inbound marketing leads, qualifying customer needs, selling appropriate products and services and developing strong customer satisfaction via phone, web contact and other outbound activities.

The AMS Sales Analyst is a member of the sales team and collaborates with the field sales staff and other functional teams (Operations, Engineering, Finance, and Field Service) on executing company strategies in support of aftermarket sales and services.

Essential Duties/Principal Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support to field sales teams that includes standard install, risk assessments (Preventive Maintenance Agreement), repair versus replace analysis, custom engineered as well as equipment retrofits and competitive options.
  • Monitor and develop sales opportunities by researching and identifying potential accounts from installation information. Build rapport by providing technical information and explanations when needed and preparing quotations.
  • Manage the entire opportunity to include proposal screening, development, approvals and pricing processes, working in Salesforce.com for all active opportunities.  Maintain a quote log for all open quotes in the territory and follow up on those quotes.
  • In cooperation with Sales & Operations, participate and develop pricing strategies and policies to take market share.
  • Develop accounts by checking customer’s buying history, suggesting related and new items and explaining technical features.
  • Contact and qualify prospects via telephone and track results. Make outbound sales calls to help recapture aftermarket customers and grow market share. Conduct cold calls (contacts not in our database) or warm calls (in our database) and provide information about products and services and qualify the lead according to established guidelines.
  • Close new opportunities by verifying and entering appropriate information. Maintain customer records and files; handle inquires and troubleshoot customer issues.
  • Work with direct sales team, service center and customer support teams to meet aftermarket business goals.
  • Participation in Xylem Watermark volunteer activities

Key Relationships:

  • External: Channel partners, Industry Associations, Engineers and Contractors
  • Internal:  Sales Leads and team members in all Xylem verticals & segments, Service Center leaders

Minimum Qualifications: Education, Experience, Skills, Abilities, License/Certification:

  • Bilingual English / French
  • B.S. in Engineering, Business, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.  MBA considered a plus
  • 8-10 years of experience in aftermarket sales, OEM parts sales, channel partner management; a focus in engineered industrial products & services a plus
